Making cards - Ideas for beginners (part 4)

Jazabelle – what a fab makeover for your walking stick – shame you have to wait so long for it. Well done on selling your cards at a carboot. Can I be really nosey and ask how much you sold each one for. It is just that I want to sell some at the carboots I do, but have no idea whether a) they would sell and b) how much to sell them for because around here people what to pay pennies for things and I was thinking about £1.00 a card. Also did you have blank insides and put them in cellophane wrappers? Sorry for all the questions, hope you don’t mind me asking.
The Range is reasonably priced, I think - but never been in Hobbycraft. I would say it's comparable to online shops, without the postage on top.
Thank you! July seems so far away!
I only charged 50p each, which isn't much at all, and they probably cost more to make than that. The reason I did them at 50p is they were my first lot, I'd never sold them before, and I also thought people would be more willing to buy them for that kind of price at a carboot sale where people want bargains. There was a woman nearby selling similar ones for £3, and I didn't see her sell any. I wouldn't pay that for a card, before I made my own. My mum and I got most of our cards from the Tesco 20p range!! The insides were blank, but they all said happy birthday on the front. Each was in a cellophane bag with an envelope.
I think £1 a card would be reasonable."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -

Thanks very much Jazabelle, i'll have a think and see if I can bulk make some that won't take too long to make - thinking about doing my usual 'happy birthday' butterfly ones, in various colours that probably take about 10 minutes to make. I'll start at £1.00. I can always reduce the price if they don't sell. Thank you for giving me the confidence to give it a goxx
