HELP please! My US card swap theme for this month is April Showers, I remember someone had a mouse stamp (Rusty maybe) with a flower in the rain but thats all I can think of, anyone have any suggestion for the theme please?

I've got Tilda in the spring rain and a fabby quote stamp that says 'Anyone who say sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain'. This one. Please let me know if you'd like me to stamp them or send you the stamps to borrow xxx

Kaitlyn had bad news this morning she can't have a place at the school where she has been going to nursery she has to go to one a mile away . Carly will be going to Kaitlyns old nursery now we are supposed to collect 2 children from schools a mile apart at the exact same time. Think they'll have to have a rethink. Also found out carly's deaf teacher has done s** all so it make's things awkward as they should have started statementing her last sept when she started private nursey ready for her to go to nursery in sept and it's only just been started and when completed will take 18 weeks to go through . The ed depts special needs unit has no record of her . Fuming doesn't begin to cover it.
    Sorry for the rant.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble re schools - it's just awful isn't it. &son didn't get offered a place at any of our 3 preferred schools and I pretty much had to chose which primary school he would go to over the phone without looking at any of them because places were going fast. I ended up going to appeal at both his first and second choice schools when he was in Y3 as there is very little point at reception stage if the school is oversubscribed - they can't have more than 30 in the class. Just as I was giving up hope, my Mum rang around all the church schools this seide of the city and found there was a place at one which we would never have considered at reception due to the travelling distance but was feasible in Y3 as there is a school bus runsa form near my work
In hindsight - it was the thing for both him and I that could possibly have happened but I can't believe what I was put through to get him somewhere bot he and I were happy with. It's only 2 years now until we'll have to apply for secondary school and I'm already dreading what will happen if the same thing happens again.
Re statementing - that is really very poor and completely unacceptable. You've every right to fume - I am on your behalf!

    Tired mom .

Just wanted to say thank you from the little princesses or the 3 witches as my youngest calls them when they are cackling in the corner . lol.
Kaitlyn was thrilled and wouldn't take anything out of the box until she'd rang and told her mum to bring carly so they could look together.
She has very carefully put Alicias on one side until she gets back next week.
Thank you very much you and Erin have made the little princesses very happy. If it isn't a rude question where did you get the ribbon from it's fab.

Really pleased they liked them and Kaitlyn sounds such a poppet waiting for her sister. The ribbon was a bargain from Costco. It cost about £4.80 for a 45 metre roll from Costco. They have lots of different rolls of ribbons and it is a case of searching through and seeing what they have. If you want some more please do holler or if you want me to look for a roll for you next time I go let me know.

I can't believe Carly's teacher that really is unacceptable. The school she will be going to will be furious and I imagine do everything they can to get it through but it doesn't help Carly in the meantime. Can you appeal against the decision to not allocate Kaitlyn a place at the local school and do you know if she is at the top of the waiting list for a place?

Rant away just sorry I can't offer more helpful advice.

Nici excuse my basic knowledge but I thin pro markers are cheaper than copic, most people here seem to use pro markers, but I am sure someone more knowledgeable than me will be here soon to guide you

Rainmac Thanks, I obviously do not have the touch for 'delicate'

craftygranny Have followed this blog for ages before I started posting and I truly don't know how you cope sometimes, can you not appeal given your circumstances? Surley there must be someone in your community who knows what is happening who could help you fight your corner. My SIL moved to Derby to a nice area but her the nearest school was full, so her daughter was placed in the worst school in Derby, we all said she would be better home schooled than go there... she appealed and won... is it not worth a try?

Has anyone on here got a good wheelable tote that they can recommend. At the moment all my stuff is in a big box and a drawer and I seem to spend most of my time sorting through and can't see what I have. I want to also be able to take stuff away to the caravan at weekends which is why I was looking at a tote rather than a storage unit.

    Thanks x

DTB Her deaf teacher is a complete waste of space . We had a lovely one where we lived before. We have to pay £150 per week from our own money to send her to a private nursery 5 afternoons per week just to get her a teacher as they only provide them when the child is in an educational setting here. She had one from birth in west yorks .
This one has seen her at home twice and about 3 times at nursery as most of the time she has been off on a course she did a 6 month one came back in feb after carlys op and switch on and 2 weeks later went on another and starts back on the 19th april and we've arranged an appointment to see her on the 20th . We have a secret weapon though carlys old deaf teacher is still in touch as a friend and we told her today what we've found out and she's offered to come to the meeting with us. She is horrified at what's been happening .
I need to calm down now or alicia won't want to come home . lol She calls her grandma meg grumpy grandma can't have the poor child having two. She says she's fed up now of going in her spaceship and the flippin hospital and just wants to come home. Only a week to go.

Mad Frog . Spoke to a lovely lady at education dept who said if we appeal hopefully we'll win but Carly isn't statemented yet which would help us and they have different addresses even though carly's here an awful lot and we pay her school fees etc.
She also told me i may need to apply to a totally different school altogether for both of them as it has a sensory impairment unit attatched and they would be pushing for carly to go there at nursery age as well as school age as they wouldn't want to have to fund similar facilities at another school for one child. They would send her to do bsl for an hour a week in the unit and the rest of the time in main stream school. Her deaf teacher should have told us this and had carly's application in and her statement in place ready for june when they allocate places for nursery . Now we have to appeal for Kaitlyn to stay at our first choice school near carly then when her statement is done and approved change them both to the specialist school so they can be together. Nightmare . good job i'm laid back and not a stress head like my o/h and my daughter.

I feel so mad about this, it's just carp  A friend of mine has a little girl with Downs and she has been refused a statement on the grounds that she is too high functioning. This on the one hand is fantastic news but my friend is panic stricken about how her little girl will cope in a mainstream primary school next year. She currently can't speak (does some sign language) and obviously struggles understanding. It's so wrong that the help and support (and money) that is needed just isn't there   . Sorry rant over x
