  • gem you can spend forever in those 2 shops! my mum who doesn't craft in the slightest got lost in there, all the halloween stock was out and it was amazing to see.

i'm going to the NEC again but it will have to be a saturday due to work.

just sat watching create and craft with spellbinders. i love the new christmas ones, but i don't want them all. did you know that they will refund your postage this weekend, well credit it to your account if you buy using the web. i have finally managed to make some cards 2 have already been posted without a pic being taken coz i was running late. i'll try and update the know what at some point this weekend. i hope you all have a nice weekend dh is planning on painting the kitchen this weekend. we've never done it before so fingers crossed!

Gemma if you're worried about ink pads leaking - pack them in with your OH's clothes and stuff then it won't matter :D

Have a great time at Disney Wifey wonder if they could put a big cake at the bottom of the castle for you to dive into :rotfl::rotfl:

I won't be at the NEC - OH wants one of them American fridge freezers although I can't see how it will fit A through the door or B so we can past the washing machine into the downstairs toilet in the utility room. plus we had a letter from work yesterday about the government cut backs. They're talking about ending sick pay for the first 3 days, car allowances and charging us to park  plus VR, career breaks and reductions in hours. Am not really worried but would like to reduce my hours a bit if he'll let me :)

Oooooh if you do find out let me know I bought some for "&son" from a car boot - he couldn't wait to play and stuck the pad things on the end and I have no idea how to get them off!! I've told him next time to have a look how things go together before pushing them together so you have an idea how to pull them apart
    You live and learn eh

Just posted a pic of my daughters latest carboot find for me.:Tits 2 pairs of scissor things with letters and flowers to make impressions onto card
Think they are used for making indentations on card ,got no idea what they are called:eek:,so cant google how to use them :rotfl:
Would like to find some examples of cards made with them.
Have a peek please and let me know,if you know what they are,Thanks.

Hi artydoll - hey're called embossing scissors I think - they sell them at the ELC

    http://www.elc.co.uk/Embossing-Tool-Kit/124555,default,pd.html

as to how you use them - "&son" uses them to go around the edge of a piece of paper and emboss the edge - only with one design though - still haven't worked out how to change the pads!
  • Snipped you - sorry

LOL - DH was mortified when I told him I'd whipped the tinnies out of the neighbours recycle bin, but not that mortified that he's prepared to drink a few tiinies for me:D Since joining this thread I need to change my name to resigned-2-b-poor!!

Quick question - can you use the Big Shot to cut out large letters? Or is that just the Cricut?

For those of you who went to the NEC - were there many people on mobility scooters? Did they get a look in at all the stalls, or were they too crowded? I can't decide whether to go or not. Can't really afford it, but it looks so much fun!

Flourgirl - my stash arrived today! It's gorgeous, thank you so much! You've put so much in, such lovely stuff! I love the santa you've coloured in, and the square stickers and everything!

  • The big shot will cut letter, you just have to buy the dies to go with it. The cricut is electronic so you will get a whole font on a cartridge.

Today i have been working on some cute (and of course die cut!!) hair clips!

You have to get a knife or something sharp to push between them to pull them apart, not much good for my arthritis though.lol.
It took me ages to do best wishes on my card, and then its very difficult to see it,even after i outllined the words in gel pen.
Gave up on it now, just posted a pic of my latest,a handbag shaped card.
