  • Wana-b-rich - i love that you have gone bin dipping for cans to cut!!! its great to be so economical and make something that i think looks quite posh!!!
I am working on die cut snowflake hairclips tonight - will blog them over the weekend when they are finished!

I cut the Tim Holtz Bird and Cage too and have a plan for the ornamental bauble die. If the worse comes to the worse I'll be off to ASDA for some of their Smart Price stuff, but friends and relatives now have instructions to save their tins. :D

I saw Lin Brown make a brooch with the Paper Artsy Die a few months ago, but she used the Ten Second Studio metal sheets which are nothing short of a small fortune, so this tip from you has been fab and I'm really grateful as it means I can play and experiment for free and if I have a happy accident it won't matter.
  • I've seen mod podge in an art store in York and it's available on some websites here too (not sure how the prices compare though) but when I was looking at it last year for some projects I found this

So I bought a tub of waterproof pva from Wickes and use that instead.

  • Oh I know what I forgot to say - PONR your santa cutlery holders are fab, are you going to buy another set to make your templates from?

CraftFairies - thanks for the tin can tut - I used my tattered florals to cut the can and am using alcohol inks to colour them. Only thing is I've turned into a right tramp and had to rumage thru the neighbours recycling to get empty tinnies as DH doesn't drink beer!! Luckily my neighbour is used to my odd ways!! You've set my mind into over drive as well.

Thanks WBR - I actually traced the templates off before I started but I have 6 in the pack and have only made one so far!!! I may make some differents ones though when I get back to the UK!!

ooh I want some mod podge - its on my shopping list from the states, the storage tub sounds like a good idea. I am planning to get some inkads and stuff like that so will prob take a trip to wal-mart for some cheap ones to transport stuff like that in, last thing I need is a crushed inkpad leaking out all over my clothes and new stuff!!! when are you back to the UK?

re the mod podge - I'm sure I saw something recently on Helens (its all fiddle fart) blog that she had used it on

Mod Podge is about $7.99 for a good sized tub so if I use a 40% off voucher then it will be excellent value - there are several different types though but I think the general gloss one will be the one I get. They also do a glitter one Gemm!!!!

I leave here on 19 October and arrive back to the UK on 20 October.

I need to stay away from craft shops as I simply cannot resist buying.

Today I saw a pink Scotch ATG in Michaels and wanted it but realised that my 50% off voucher had expired!!! I had a special 15% off everything voucher for today as well so when I got to the desk I said I'd just realised the 50% off voucher had expired and did they have any valid ones around! To my surprise she just gave me 50% discount on the till for the ATG and 15% off the rest of my shop which included some cheap buttons and a spare set of tapes for the ATG - the ATG came with 2 reels of tape as well!! Also the polymer clay was on offer for 99c each and then 15% off with the voucher so just 59p each!!!!! Oh and I got a MS wedding cake punch reduced to £3.50 - quite cute!

ohh a Pink atg... stop it Gemma... you already have a yellow one...still it might be handy to have 2... for when exactly? maybe I will see if i've got any spending money left at the end of my hol (unlikely at this rate!) keep the bargainous posts coming! Think my OH will get slightly annoyed at me wanting to spend the entire time in Micheals and Joanns though :rotfl: I'd be quite happy there, he can go off and see Vegas and just leave me be :D

hi I am now sitting at my grand daughters lap top way down south in plymouth, no crafting goodies no cuttlebug no nesties no promarkers:(:(:( we flew down to bristol so could not take any extra "stuff". I am "in charge" here till mid oct whilst DS is off on an unexpected RN trip and DIL is also abroad for work. Did I mention no promarkers, bug, nesties, I should have paid for 2 bags :mad::mad: I expect to be online when the laptop is free and hope to enjoy "virtual" crafting through all of you:)

OAP - Oh Dear, huge commiserations (sp?) Could you perhaps treat yourself to 'something completely different/self contained' to do, say, cross stitch or I see you reading loads of books..........

Wifey - everything crossed for you that all goes well and they find a simple non invasive solution. ((Hugs))

PONR - I'm loving all the shopping trips even though I don't know what some of the stuff is that you tell us about:rotfl: Maybe you could leave all your clothes over there for OH to bring back for you? (or not, as it'll be winter when you get back here)

Glittermum - Your boys look lovely - as you say definitely your best make yet.

Gemm - don't think I'll be able to make the NEC unless I can persuade DH he'd like another weekend in the midlands we found a lovely place to stay last time we were there will check out the dates........
