Where can I buy "Merry Christmas" words, if you know what I mean ?(don't know the right terminology:o). I don't want the ones that are on a round sticker but would prefer either the words or individual letters.

Have you a printer? just type them into Word and choose what font you like. You could look online - you need to search for greetings or sentiments. HTH

  • Afternoon all, hope everyone is ok today.

I need your help please ladies. I bought the Quickutz reindeer die from ebay the other day to use in my cuttlebug. However as it is 2nd hand it didn't come with instructions all that was in the envelope was the 2 dies, 2 foam squares and something which I think is called a shim? Having googled about the quickutz dies it explains about sticking the adhesive foam things onto the back of the die bit they then put it in a machine called a squeezer which I haven't got. Does anyone know do I need to stick the foam on or can i use it in the cuttlebug without the foam. Alternatively can I just stick foam on by hand (I really dont know exactly what the squeezer thing actually does to the die) Sorry for the long waffle I just hope someone can help and that I have't made a big mistake buying this. Thank you in advance

I have a big shot and use quickcutz no problems. Stick the foam squares onto the cutting side of your dies and run them through machine with the right 'sandwich' for a cuttlebug (not sure what this). You should end up with a die that looks like your normal thin die with a foam bit. Then you can start using it - I've not used a shim yet.

Congratulations to our latest winner - definitely on a roll.
I have sinned and spent £55 on craft stuff today - note to self do not ever wander into craft shop! I got indian Tilda tho :)

    Hi Twinkle

A friend of mine has these. They put the foam bit over the top, and then use it as a wafter thin die (they have a bigshot, but would presume it would work in a similar way for the cuttlebug). The foam just protects the cutting bit I think. Hope that makes sense. x

Edit ** Looks like soma beat me to it**
    May - £251.63/£155, June - £108.69/£150, July - £157.45/£155, Aug - £104.28/£155
    Sept - £110.80/£150, Make £5 a day in Oct challenge = £50.50/£155

Soma - You should have said. I still have some Indian Tilda images I could have sent you. Come on then, what did you buy?

ETA: sorry I'm being nosey, but I'm trying to stay stash free until the show at the NEC and I love hearing what everyone else is buying.

ETA again: woohoo I've been thanked 10,000 times. LOL

Hi welcome to the thread basic thing you would need to start are craft knife and cutting mat, double sided tape, then it depends on what style of card you want to make as to you would need, ie if you want to use stamped images you would need stamps, ink , something to colour with. hth just shout with any more questions as Addams said have a look at our blogs to give you some ideas should of said you can find our blogs by clicking on our names and then going to our homepage.

Thanks your the stuff you have made is lovely, I have a craft knife, cutting mat loads of bits to stick on but quite like the idea of stamped images I did but a clear block??? and have some letters but will have to get some images whats the best to colour them?

  • Have absolutely no idea what I've read but am sure someone needs congratulations again lol!

Sandwich for quickcutz in the bug is the same as nesties but you might need a shim depending on your bug if that makes sense - try it first without and see if it cuts.

Have posted the ATC swaps on craftyplace - not many of us this month - not too late to join in as I've done it as a round robin this time for a change so can drop someone else in without any problems :D

Had to take DD to the dentist this afternoon as part of her tooth dropped out in her breakfast  Fortunately it's a baby one that he thinks had some decay underneath and has fallen apart as the one underneath is pushing it out. Was awful sitting in there as I normally sit in the chair with my eyes shut so I don't know what he's doing :o He's filled the missing bit temporarily until the rest of it drops out :p
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

Thanks most of us on here use promarkers but these are quite expensive at about £1.60 each, you could use pencils, water colours ( with the right ink), gel pens, you could buy some stamped images off ebay as a cheaper way to start out rather than buying the stamps. If you would like I will stamp you a few images to get started with just pm me with your address
