I have ordered several cuttlebug embossing folders here which were reduced to around £2.10 each - was going to use them on the Sizzix Texture Boutique but I am thinking that the die cutting would be useful also and for another £20 on top of the Sizzix embosser price I might be better to get the Cuttlebug. Does it only cut paper or would it cut fabric and felt??? Can you only use Cuttlebug dies and embossing folders with it??
Sorry for so many questions!!! Thanks alot!!!:A
It cuts card and funky foam not sure about fabric or felt.
You can use - all the sizzix dies in it (you need extra plates for Bigz though), joy dies, provocraft dies, little claire dies, nesties obviously, crafts too, wizard dies and quickutz and are you bored yet :rotfl::rotfl:
You can also emboss brass stencils but need an extra mat.
It is quite heavy - so wouldn't have thought you could get away with it in hand luggage.
PS the provocraft alphabets are loads cheaper over there - they can be £50 plus hereOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

I have a bug too and it's fab for embossing, cutting etc, they cut most things and take most dies . not the sizzix bigz dies as far as i know. Lisa ( craftfairies ) would be able to give you good advice if you pm her she knows lots about these machines.Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

PONR This is what it says about the bug - "will accept most craft materials, however the height of cutting materials should not exceed 1/8" " HTH0

My bug came in a bigish box, and one out on the box it really isn't that heavy - just weighed it without the box, and it is 3.4kg.
Not sure if it cuts fabric or felt, I only use it for card, which is at times quite thick and has to be put through the cuttlebug twice. Hopefully someone else will be along soon to confirm if you can do material in it.
You just use dies and embossing folders but they don't have to be the cuttlebug ones ie I use sizzix embossing folders, and sizzix and nestibility dies in it as well as cuttlebug ones.
Hope this helps, ask as many questions as you like.2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -
I've got a cuttlebug to and love it would say I use it for nearly every card, can't help with you other questions sorry.
CT have added the link for the box to my post now thanks for pointing out that I had forgotton to link it.0 -

Deffo cuts felt - I use mine a lot to cut felt circles for the back of ribbon brooches. Would probably cut fabric if it had binding on the back for stiffness but I've never tried it.0 -
