Morning all
Congratulations Dragonllew
Soulie Thanks for the freebie link, there are some really pretty things there. Hope your feeling a bit better today
Hello maggie111
ponr Have a great holiday.
giggle LOL
Ooh I'm excited - sorry this is not craft related in the slightest - I've just booked tickets for Scotland vs New Zealand rugby match :T:j:T:j and OH and I had a chat and decided that if we really get our finger out we could possibly be in a new house by Christmas, so excited!!
On a kinda craft note - do any of you use external hard drives? I'm thinking of getting one cos at the moment I've got all my stuff saved on a flash card and I'm terrified of losing it.0 -
Morning everyone. Hope you've all got better weather than ours. Rain again, can't believe it, just one and a half days of reasonable weather and the rain's back! We've got the chaps in doing the garden this week, they're out there in the rain digging up the old paving. Forecast for the rest of the week is rain and more rain so it doesn't look good for them.
Dragonllew Congrats :T
Maggie111 Welcome to the thread. I have three paper cutters - two guillotines and a Rotatrim. To be honest, none of them actually cut straight and if I do use them I usually have to revert to squaring my card up with my craft knife and ruler. For creasing card you'll need some kind of score board and bone folder, plenty on the market but for most versatility I like my Hougie board which has inches and half inches one side and cm and half cm on the other. What about buying pre-scored card blanks? Before you spend out on a lot of equipment you might want to think about whether you want to continue card making as if you don't your invitations will work out very expensive! On a kinda craft note - do any of you use external hard drives? I'm thinking of getting one cos at the moment I've got all my stuff saved on a flash card and I'm terrified of losing it.
Yes PepPop, I've got an external hard drive - a WD Passport 120gb, we got it from ebuyer 2 or 3 years ago. We tend to put everything on there in case we have a computer crash and lose everything off the HD. I also put all my cardmaking stuff on a memory stick so I've got two copies of all my images, papers, cards, etc.
Jowri Have a lovely day in Cornwall, hope you get to do some craft shopping.
Soulie I hope you start to feel better soon. You too Craftygranny.
lrlrip I also bought these flowers from Dunelm. They're really nice, they are the ones on my peach Tilda card. Good value at 40 for £1.89. My other flowers are Prima and Papermania, all flatish ones. I have to be a bit careful with spending as we only have our pensions now so don't go for the more expensive ones I'm afraid. A lot of my craft stuff is bought with Christmas and birthday money as everyone knows I'd rather have something I really want so they either buy something crafty I've asked for or will give me the money to buy it myself. I cut my ovals with Nesties or my Nellie Snellen dies as I have a Cuttlebug. My friend has cut circles and ovals with scissors but to be honest they don't come out all that well, I suppose it depends how good you are with scissors, personally I'm pretty hopeless, can't even cut a straight line :rotfl: .
I probably haven't remembered everything so hugs all round.0 -

Mine are finished, dug up and chucked. We had Gardener's Delight. Very pleased with them. They did have a very early start though in the sun room. We have two cherry tomatoes in pots which are ripening, had a few the other day but lots more to come. I think I'll stick with cherry toms next year, take up less room and look neater.

Just wanted to ask. Did anyone else download the freebie flower digi "Softly Afloat", I think it was from Paper Cupcakes, I know it was a Nina Jay May image and it was a fair while ago.
I've got this image and used it for the first time yesterday. I can't believe how small it is, even at 100%. To print it out at anything like a reasonable size I increased it to 140% but still didn't manage to colour it with PMs, had to use pencils. And of course it loses definition when you enlarge it
I wondered if I had done anything wrong when downloading it, like not clicking on the image to expand it? It's no longer available as a freebie, it's in the shop now.0 -
Good afternoon crafters! thanks for all the congrats on my card sale. I have made a big decision........... I am going to have to go on a craft stash ban for a month starting from today :embarasse sad times. How do you cope during such despearte times, I am dreading it! Is anyone thinking of going to the scrapbooking show at Alexandra Palace in September, I though it would be a good time to break my ban then!!!
A question. I want to start selling cards to family and friends, do you think if I start a blog, put my cards on there and then e-mail the link this would be a good way of doing it?
Irlip - I defo buy whatever takes my fancy and then hopefully come up with some way of putting it all together!
Good Crafting Vibes to all! xHmmm will add up debt and stick on on later!0 -
Thank you girls so much!! There's my shopping list sorted!!
I am loving the Martha Stewart Large Punch Chrysanthemum I saw on a link from wanna-b-rich so thank you for that! It might go well with my carnation pomanders.
I'm not totally decided on a corner cutter, I think when I make my decision I will go for the QVC one so thank you Addams!
And I will get the Woodware trimmer, so thank you Soma & Marg!
And thanks everyone for your advice and links, I've got a lot more resources to meander through now!! Will pop back in with updates and will no doubt ask for more adviceI love surprises!0 -

Hi Peppop - we use a external hard drive. Its really easy to use, is fairly small in size, but hold loads. I would recommend one if you are nervous about loosing stuff. Our make is an iomega (never heard of it before, it was the one recommended on the dell website) and I think its 100gb.May - £251.63/£155, June - £108.69/£150, July - £157.45/£155, Aug - £104.28/£155
Sept - £110.80/£150, Make £5 a day in Oct challenge = £50.50/£1550
