Had a busy weekend, so just catching up – sorry if I miss anyone out, it is not intentional. We have been at Thorpe Park all day, so my head is a bit fuzzy after doing the rides.
Marg – sorry about your parking ticket. Hope you get off on the appeal, as £50 seems a little harsh. Hope you had a lovely time at your friends birthday.
Rainmac – hope you managed to get to legoland yesterday and had a fab day.
Thanks for the fab Halloween freebie PONR. Have a great trip to the States, and your stepper card is absolutely gorgeous – I’ll have to learn how to do them.
PepPop – fab button for the winner of Artydolls challenge – you are very clever. Good luck with house hunting in Loch Lomond. What a stunning place to live. Thanks for the link re the cuttlebug plates, I’ll give it a go, as mine are really bad.
:TCongratulations on your wins Scatty and Dragonlew :T.
Fantastic new laptop Gemm, I love the colour.
Hope you had a great Anniversary yesterday TomsMom. Sounds like you have had a busy few days.

Jellybaby – fab that you sold your card for so much money, well done :T.
Welcome home CGCockcroft – hope you had a fab holiday and can’t wait to see what crafting goodies you bought.
Fifi Folle – hope you feel better soon, has my swap card arrived with you yet?
Irlrip – if you would like me to cut you some ovals (plain or scalloped) then PM me, and I’ll happily pop some in the post to you.
Sorry for the mammoth post, will do a blog hop later to see what gorgeous things you have all been making.2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -
PONR Have a lovely time in the US, I don't think I would dare go craft shopping there I would have a wish list that would fill four suitcases
Have been at work all weekend so will try and finish my challenge card tomorrow, have also a project for my niece that I need to finish as it's for her exam results which are due on Tuesday
I will try and catch up on all your blogs this week, feel really bad as I haven't had a chance to comment on all the lovely makes for about a month although I have had fleeting glances
Hahaha - last two trips I had a 2 bag allowance so brought back loads of stuff. This time luggage rules have changed so only 1 case unless I want to pay $40 coming back!!! I don't need that much this time luckily!!!The E-mail of the species is more deadly than the mail.0 -
Hope you all had a good weekend ours was a complete washout we had the air show here took the kids to seeit on saturday as Aimee had a birthday party to go to on the sea front only no planes flew because of the weather. Hope the weather not this bad all next week as I'm off work and have promised the kids a couple of days out.
I have parcels ready to post tomorrow to Craftygranny, Rainmac, Ali B and Jazabelle.
PONR hope you have a fab time.0 -
Carmin - thanks, do you get the flowers in white to colour with your Pro-markers?
Ive bought a white, blue and pink, whites great cos you can put on any colour to co-ordinate with whatever papers you are using. And the colours you can add deeper tones to to make them more dimentional.
I did a card with a mix on it, but forgot to take a pic of it! will see if i can get time this week to make another.0 -
Congrats to Dragonllew - well done!
The weather was fab here today so we had a nice family get together at my aunties and were able to sit in the garden all afternoon. It started to rain as we got home and still raining now so not bad at all.The E-mail of the species is more deadly than the mail.0 -

I'm still not feeling a lot better think i've been trying to do too much. Just like the rest of us .
I'd like some advice please ladies we've been talking xmas and i really like some of the bigz dies but can't use them in the bug so do you think i'd be better getting a big shot and some bigz dies or a craft robo and the relevant pattern files as my oh suggested . Would i be able to cut boxes etc using a robo? Think he's been reading up and just wants a new toy lol.Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20
New challenge finish birth sampler by end of the month
No matter how much life knocks you down, it's your ability to get back up, brush yourself off and face your next set of challenges that makes you stronger0 -
Evening all.
I'm still feeling pretty dreadful at the moment, and I ache all over from coughing
On a brighter note, and not wanting to sound like I am bragging or anything lol, but, I just found out I won another challenge :T The prize is 3 digital stamps of my choosing.
It's such a shame that I don't really even use digital stamps though, as this will take my win of digi stamps up to 8 in the last week alone lol
Maybe one day I will get around to sorting my printer out and getting better quality card to print on to, then I will be able to use my winning lol
I still haven't quite decided what to spend my other $25 winnings on yet neither. I know for sure I will be getting a just-rite stamping set, but can't decide to go for ribbons & lace or another stamp arghhhhAfternoon everyone.
I have just made my second card. I would have preferred some flat flowers and some co-ordinating card but I just don't have the stock yet. Have a look on my ****
When you all started card-making did you just buy bits and pieces and hope they matched to make a card or did you have a card in mind and then bought things to make it?
Also can you buy pre-cut ovals etc. to put images on or do you cut them yourselves? Do you just cut them yourselves with scissors or what do you use?
Also where can I get some flowers? I got some lovely ones like on the card I have just made but would like flatter ones.
Nice card.
I use Prima flowers for flatter flowers, you can colour in the white ones to match your card, or do as I did when I messed up and colour in a purple one, on a pink card. I meant to have only coloured around the edge of the flowers but messed up and ended colouring it all in BUT it turned out really well anyways.
Forgot to add: When I first started card making, I just bought the essentials that I knew I would need like pre-folded cards & envelopes, a couple of different packs of papers and embellishments.
When I first started my 'craft box' was one of those small boxes of toffifee's, now.... well, I won't go in to that lol
Then I just sort of built up my stock, buying different colours and styles of things like papers, embellishments and now I have gotten in to stamping, so I need to build uo my stamp collection lol
As for the shapes, I used to just do square panels all the time as I think nesties are a bit too expensive. I have found a cheaper alternative though, Nellie Snellen dies and they will do me until I can get some nesties for Christmas *hint hint @ my OH*
I do also have a Fiskars cutter thing, but I've rarely used it, and prefer doing things the easiest way LOL
Ona nother note, I found some REALLY awesome freebies here if anyone is interested, not sure if these have been posted before though, as I am a late coming to the thread it is hard to know what has been posted and what hasn't!
