Glad you enjoyed your stay in Doncaster. I used to live in the village where the wildlife park is, now I live 2 miles further on. Did you go to Cactus Jacks in town for your meal? What did you buy at the show? I'm a nosey moo
Crikey just noticed I have made 2,500 posts!! must be a gobby moo too
:rotfl: what does that make me with all of my posts then? Lol.
Still waiting for stickles to dry, then I can stick the images onto the cards, I have made the cards already but need this to dry before adding image, sentiments and embellishments! GrrrRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Hope you have had a great day Lei - wishing you a very Happy Birthday.
Rainmac - such a great amount of money raised, well done, all the hard work you put in obviously paid off.
CGCockcroft - glad you had such a great birthday weekend.
Been trying all day to sort out boxes for cookies for the kids teachers and am having a nightmare putting them together and getting them square - grrrr:mad:. I thought it would be easy because they are cut on the craftrobo and only need 4 small strips of DST. Managed to wreck 2 out of the 6 I need so will ask OH sweetly tonight if he can score them properly and square and I'll make them up later. I'll be glad when the cookies are made and boxed and they are on their way to the teachers.
Just found out that one of the TAs doesn't like chocolate and the cookies I am making are chocolate chip. Does anyone have an easy and tasty recipe for plain ones?2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -
Seeing as my brain's not in gear and I can't work this one out, does anyone have any ideas how I can do this.
I have some Christmassy stamps I bought last year but not used yet. Reindeer or snowmen I think. I want them to be peeping out from behind multiple windows.
How can I cut smallish square windows, say four in a square or three in a line. Me and knives don't always manage square.
Is there a cutting die that does this and I haven't seen it yet? I've got a Cuttlebug.0 -

The only way that I can think you may be able to do it is if you have a square die cut for the cuttlebug in the size you want, if you do, then position the square slightly in from the edge of the card you want to use, put it through the bug, then reposition the same square near the one you have just cut so that there is a frame effect, repeat 4 times. Two at the top and two at the bottom. Then cut the square frame around all four and that should give you a window frame. You just need to make sure you line the squares up properly. Hope that makes sense. Got to go and collect the kids from school, but will give it a go for you later and take some pictures so you can see what I mean if you want me to.

Thanks CT, yes it makes sense. I was probably looking for an easy way, as in one die does the lot, OK I'm lazy!!!!!!!! I'll check out some square dies. There's probably some aperture cards available, hopefully not A6 size though.

Hi everyone, apologies if this seems like a really stupid question (it does to me and I'm asking it!)...
I've been wanting to try to make my own cards for ages and finally got round to ordering some stuff today but just wondering, when stamping onto paper can I just use copier paper or does it have to be thicker?
Thanks0 -

Hi Grapey, welcome to the thread. No question is stupid, especially when you're just starting out.
The answer is no, you can't just use copier paper. I assume you mean rubber stamping? And do you want to colour in? Depending on what colouring medium you want to use you'll need different card. Water colouring needs proper water colour paper, although you could get away with a card that doesn't fuzz when water's applied, can't help you with that as I tried it and it fuzzed :rotfl: .
Promarkers or Copic pens then you need a smooth coated card. Minimum I would say would be 160gsm but personally I would go a bit heavier, say 200gsm or maybe even 250gsm.
Pencils, I'm not expert but again I wouldn't go too lightweight.
