Had vaguely mentioned being free but would let her know and that if she didn't hear from me then we'd make plans for next week...

Really not up to company so have lied and said I'm at my grandparents. I am so horrible sometimes.

That's not horrible Daisy, it's sensible. Sometimes we just aren't up to company. With some of my friends (the very best ones who don't take offence easily!) it's perfectly ok to tell them I'm just not in the mood but sometimes fibs have to be told.
