I've never been before either, before Dylan we always went long haul, I've not seen much of Europe either apart from several city breaks so I'm hoping we'll be able to do that as a family.

I think a holiday would be really good for you right now!
There are some real cheapies around. Depends on your expectations I suppose.

If I'm in a lovely place, simple and basic is fine by me (sometimes!!), I can get away with quite minimal holiday spends, if it means I'm grabbing an extra week of sunshine and relaxation, like this trip I'm taking with DD at the end of the month. Neither of us want to blow the budget on this one, so it will be MS, but lovely all the same! Our holiday reading from Readitswapit, is plopping through the door! Avoids buying books at the airport!!
  • I tried to stay up and watch it Phillippa but sleep got the better of me, OH woke me up on the sofa at 1ish and told me to go to bed!

Your holiday sounds lovely Vicki, wish I was going away, we went to egypt last year and it was amazing

Where are you and DD going Bronnie?
PF I agree a holiday would do you good, do you have anyone up for a last minute bargain, or would you go on your own?
I've been to Egypt a couple of times but didn't see more than the hotel and the Red Sea. I'd love to see the sights but can't drag myself out of the water for long enough.

Queen, your internet connection will enrich us all. :)

I loved turkey. would really love to go back.

I really want to go to Morocco, very badly.

We have been offered someones house in Tuscany for a while this year, we're going to try and go in the Autumn.: although we'll need to hire a car and pay for flights, free accommodation is huge bonus.
  • Thank you lost. When you're feeling stressed today try punching a big pile of pillows ;)

Oh I'd love to go to Morocco, mostly for the food. It's up there on the must do list. That sounds like a great opportunity Lost, I wish we had an offer like that!
We're looking to go camping in France in September, probably west coast 1/3 way down, I'm not very up on my French geography but I think the drive would be managable and the beaches are quite nice there. I love France for the food again.

We're going to Rhodes, Lindos. I went about 10 years ago, but DD's never been. We've just got a room in the village. No cars allowed in the village and the rooms are very basic, but reviews are fine. I know what to expect and that's part of the charm of staying there, especially out of the very busy season.

The hol is only costing us £225 each for the whole package for a week, so can't complain. Mad flight times, but once I'm in holiday mode, I'm pretty good at go-with-the-flow (well pretty ok with that most of the time anyway)
