no apologies lovely.
Dad and I were the only ones at the voting place, hm.0 -
There was a queue when I went! I occupied myself with looking at shoes. We were a very well shod queue
I think that's a lovely reaction Sarah, it shows it really matters to youMy main thought was that we had all these candidates that I've heard nothing from - I would have loved to chat to the Green candidate for the local elections but we didn't even get a flyer through the door
Lol! It's not very green to drop junkmail through every door though!
I clearly have a no junkmail banner across my letterbox but nobody considerers their flyer a junk!
I felt like putting a poster on my door stating that my vote would go to the candidate who posted the least. It's such a huge waste of paper and resources. I know they all want to win but I do think it should be banned so no party can use this tactic.0 -
Morning all - sporting a lovely puffy hayfever/ cold face this morning, not a good look! Was off sick yesterday but dragged myself in today in a haze of Piriton... I feel very fuzzy, not voted yet but in this state it might be for the party with the funniest name... I agree with you about the leaflets Vicki, it's ridiculous.
Wearing..
Charcoal trousers (Asda, too big and a bit scruffy to be honest)
Black belt (Primark, can't see it, just holding trousers up)
Blue and black frilly top (Primark)
Big dark jade green angora cardigan (John Lewis via charity shop - so cosy)
Buying myself some new glasses todayThese - http://www.glassescomplete.co.uk/buy_glasses/full_rim/gc_fenella/ - which I've already got but are a bit worn/ covered in hair dye, and I think the same style in gunmetal as well so I can have a change when I feel like it.

Yep I got the same ones from them a couple of years ago - quite a long wait for them to turn up but I've been really pleased with them. Quite a difference in price from my previous pair that were about £300! :eek:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Brill, thank you
Hm
I'm going to try and get a bit more sleep. So exhausted.0 -

I don't think it's junkmail. If you ban flyers, how else do you actually find out about who's running in your area and what their policies are unless you're one of the very few people interested enough to research it via websites etc? 5 minute party political broadcasts aren't that helpful.0 -

I haven't found anything I've read in the leaflets that helpful either - too much slagging each other off and not enough about what they will actually do. The Greens are better for that sort of thing I think, but we've had about 5 copies of the same leaflet from them which is annoying!
And on a less serious note - if anyone is a member of the Secret Sales site, have a look at the Ice Jewellery sale on there at the moment, some really pretty things!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Morning ladies!
Sorry Im a very bad MSE'er and blogger atm as I seem to have no time to do anything! And my laptops poorly so Im on the ancient pc (was built by Noah same time he did the Ark I think)...Im soo tired today as Jas woke up from a bad dream at 3 (went straight back to sleep) then was kept awake with the blimming birds outside!
Been and voted though hope you all are too
Not much to report outfit wise I have grabbed the first thing I saw, its chucking it down here so not much point in getting dressed up:
Wearing
skinny jeans
floaty voile thingy (ha) vest top
cropped black cardi
boots and mac when I went out.
Hope you all are well**"Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin."**0 -
I haven't really had the junkmail problem, mainly becuase the majority of my post to my flat seems to get lost somewhere between the main door and actually getting to my door. it's a worry, but i have just stopped having things sent to home address.
I've just been and voted on my way back to work after this seminar as I drove past on the way there and there was a huge queue so I didn';t think I'd have time.. I was the only person there on the way back (about 10.15)
I agree that party leaflets etc, and also the televised debates, have not focused enough on what each party's policies are, and have put far too much focus on slagging one another off..which i think is childish, and worrying if they think that that is the most useful tactic to use to persuade the majority of their potential supporters..0
