The place is greaty market (query spelling - alex?) on a saturday morning, they don't come in boxes and they are slightly used, they look pretty real and I have no reason to suspect they are fakes or anything and he has LOADS of them - I'm very excited...I might get two pairs, one from my birthday money and one to treat myself for going to work all week (how sad!)
I know where FACT is Alex but haven't been in yet. I have been to the vintage flea market on lark lane though on once a month which is fab and southport has the MOST charity shops in the world ever - what a fab day out
we'll haev to keep swapping tips
Alex maybe you can help with this but what on earth are the weird plastic cow/dog/unidentifiable creature things all over the city?? they are weirding me out lol xxx*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150 -
Just stained our tatty garden table and it looks like new, cleared out my car as it is going for an MOT, DH has just taken it in so I need everyone to cross whatever they can that it passes without any major expense.
I'm hoping that Dylan will have a little nap in a minute so I can have a rumage through my patterns to see if I have a maxi dress one!
DB, I hope you are OK, of course we don't mind hearing about you, we're all rooting for you to get well so updates are good. xx0 -
The superlambananas?! There are penguins too!
I should probably venture further out into Liverpool more, I'm so lazy! There always used to be loads of little markets/fairs/boutique shops that I spent all my money in as a teenager but haven't been to for years and years.
I finally bought a pair of nude court shoes today, with a Fiorella clutch purse that should work well with the dress. I also bought 'coralicious' nail varnish, but no jewelry in the right colours.. still all should work well together.“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

yeah that's them!!! I'll have a bit of a read of that website in a bit thank you xx
ah you're over the water (forgive me I've just moved here 3 weeks ago so am just getting my bearings) I went to birkenhead the other day and loved it, I bought 7 jars of coffee is neto cos it was on offer (the guy looked at me like I was a freak) and two pretty dresses from one of the chairty shops, oh and turnips from the market cos it was the only place I've found them so far. and everyone is so friendly up here, more so over the water than in liverpool (I think but if my boy hears me say that he tells me off!)*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150 -

Ohh up on Great Homer St? My friend is always bagging the most amazing bargains from there but I've never been
Must must must go once I have some money and a free Saturday (so probably in mid 2011
)
Have you been to Grand Central (aka the new Quiggins) yet? Some amazing little shops in there, and a very nice vintage shop (Raiders?) over the road from it.
Yus, I love a day out in Southport for charity and book shopping. While I'm thinking about charity shops, if you get the bus out to Allerton Road then there are about 8 within half a mile of each other
Ah, how I love Superlambananas. The Penguins were rubbish in comparison.
Philippa - sounds like a productive shop! Is that your outfit all sorted then?0 -

Yeah I think it's great homer street but I'll check with Chris later and report back tomorrow, he is from here and calls it greaty so that's all I know it by lol there is a fab vinatge shop in the middle of it somewhere. Most of the stuff on the market is general market stuff IYKWIM but there was some cool stuff, like french connection shoes brand new for £10 I'm sure they had fallen off a lorry earlier that week *cough* they were so pretty but I didn't indulge. I have so many shoes and such a little flat now (well it's not little but it's no where as big as our house with converted cellar) I'm struggling big time for shoe storage, I can't even to a Char and keep them in my kitchen cupboards because they are full of other stuff!!
I have been to Quiggins (is that near Lewis, the big, expensive shop, which is closing down?) where they all sit in little glass shops on their sewing machines? I'm taking my mum there on saturday when she comes to visit.
ooOOoo I can feel a trip to allerton road coming up soon then, well I say soon, I feel like I have no free time at the mo cos I'm working and haven't got a free saturday until 29th May from now! but I have made a note and will be shopping there soon.
oh and I have to add if you ever happen to see me walking round the city with my shopping trolley I am starting a new trend...in my defense it is black and so goes with most outfits and I'm just too lazy to lug shopping bags back from lidl ol
Bronnie you're from here too? woo hoo there's loads of us...I think the meet up (if it ever happens) should happen up here lol*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150 -
