That's DH's work dress code too. easier for women I think. The women at DH's office usually opt for either smart trousers, with shirts and sweaters or smart tops, or skirts with less formal tops, or simple shift dresses. There is a brilliant sounding woman he worked with in Rome who wore 1950s clothes she'd inherited.

Oh I'd love to have inherited some 1950s clothes! I'm thinking I'll go for fairly basic skirts/ trousers and smart tops to start with and then I can gauge it from everyone else after a while.

I've got (or did I give it to charity shop, can't remember?) a lovely dark blue 40s/50s dress which I used to wear but can't fit into now - it has such a tiny waist!

I have a 50s sun dress somewhere that I love.

    Shamefully still in PJs,
I really need to get moving.

My sewing machine arrived at about 8:00 so I've been reading the manual and the cute little crafty booklet that came with it. It looks exactly what I wanted, I haven't tried it out yet as I don't think it's a good idea while Dylan is around, so roll on bedtime!
DH was off yesterday and today so we sorted the garden out, DH put up a makeshift trellis fence around the veggie patch to keep Dylan out and we put up the runner bean canes and chanced putting 12 plants in.
I also planted out a row of turnip plants and then both of us did a general tidy up. It's looking good and was very satisfying.
Had a Peer Supporter meeting last night which overran by 2 hours. Hoping to have another productive day today and get the inside sorted out.

Queenie, good to hear from you, hope you are settling in well.

Queenie! Hope Sky get things sorted quickly, we miss you!

I love the look of 50's clothes but I think I'm not quite brave enough for the silhouette of them as I feel a bit like I'm playing dress up. Hopefully one day!

    Today's outfit is:

    Black leggings - M&S
Black long sleeved long top - DP
Oatmeal coloured short sleeved crochet type v neck jumper over the top - DP
Beaded necklace - car boot sale
    Shell necklace - no idea
    Same earrings as yesterday
Cream and black flats - New Look

I don't think I've ever worn this jumper thing before so I tried it on a whim over basic black today and I really like it :D

well, on a plus side nurse is now coming to me so I dont have to get soaked and mum will pop to sorting office for my parcels before she goes to work.

on a not plus side, I'm getting really agitated and snappy because I'm being weighed and feel really...vast today.

(((Daisy))) Don't suppose it's helpful to point out that you couldn't be further from the truth there?

I'm quite enjoying the spring showers. I like rain when it's warmish outside :)
