Tsabo, I know what you mean about short term memory, I'm terrible and certain it's to do with lack of sleep.
For three days now I've kept Dylan awake all day without letting him sleep, that sounds really mean but a lot of his friends have now dropped their daytime nap so I think he's old enough to possible not need it anymore. It hasn't yet meant more sleep at night though and now I don't get that respite during the day.
Sorry to keep going on about that issue. It's only here I can talk about it really without all sorts of smugness and suggestions that we're doing something wrong. Maybe we are, I don't know, I'm just fed up if it being said!0 -
Hurrah for DH Vicki, that's fabulous.
Vicki, don't apologise hun, we all need space to rant and I personally don't mind reading about you and Dylan
Well, just about made it to Tesco, really struggling with energy today and feel as if I have another cold coming. Got my veg etc, last night they had literally nothing on the shelves. Still lacking protein, but going to a bigger store en route to Dentist, as well as my favourite independant health food shop which is next to our dentist, so fingers crossed.
Spoke to work about going off sick, got lots of hugs and assurances it was fine and they had been concerned for some time.
Just fallen through the front door, Mum has sent me upstairs to rest, and told me not to even think about baking today.
I think now I know whats going on etc, I'm finally allowing my body to do what it needs to instead of pushing it.0 -
Right. I need a new maxi dress.
I'm thinking of...gulp.....
trying to make one. Really simply, gathered off a simple round yoke, dropping down...no darting, or nuffin'...do the makers thing this would work? I envisage the hardest part being the gathering (and cutting a pattern myself!)
Possibly silk? I live MILES from any fabric shops let alone any good ones, and I'm not sure I can get to London, where I would normally head.
Any idea of good places to buy silk online?0 -
Daisy - like everyone's said, focus on what's right for you. Lots of recovery groups say to just take it one day at a time, easier said than done though.
Vikki - good luck getting through your list.
Feeling annoyed with myself - lost the diamond necklace I loved yesterday. Caught my hand in the chain in the shower at swimming, it snapped and the diamond rolled away down the drain. I'm so clumsy.
Have updated blog with a possible replacement but it'll have to wait - couldn't justify spending that much money on myself.

Oooh yes Lost, make one.
I think it'd be very simple, the fabric might be quite expensive. I've bought from ebay before but I tend not to because I like to have a feel.
Hobbycraft do fabric, do you live near one?
I've always fancied buying a cheap funky printed duvet cover and making a maxi from it.0 -

I'm a fairly long way from a hobby craft. Its tricky this month because I'm all alone with the animals, no chance of getting away for more than 4 hours at a time:o0 -
Hi all, hope you all had a good weekend, bit chaotic here at the moment.
Today I'm in:
Grey shift dress (starting to think I wear these too often - I've got three in slightly different styles!)
Deep jade green jumper over the top
Black tights
Black flat shoes
Not particularly exciting! Packing to go on holiday tonight though - am away Thurs - Tues with just hand luggage so need to be quite economical.. I'm thinking black trousers, jeans, denim pencil skirt, selection of tops in blue and black (couple of which can be worn as dresses), few pairs of black tights, black flat shoes, and a pair of trainers... maybe a pair of denim shorts as well.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Love this, but buying a dress I like would be as cheap at least!

but feel really, really tempted
quite like this:

there is loads of choice on ebay, but most of the things I like are chiffons. (no, no, no to making a lining!)0 -
I fancy finding a little hand sewing project to do to while away some time, any ideas?0

So far so good...
Got the ex of the friend I went out with on Sunday coming over at 7:30ish as he wants me to do some work for his business. It's for a share in the company rather than cash so not sure if I want to or not but what itdoes mean is that the list now includes:
- Restore general respectability in public areas of the house.0
