Since you already have a babysitter, can I offer my services as dining companion? :D

How did you go about it? I have a friend whom I should probably 'spring clean' of my life (sorry if this sounds terrible but I do have good reasons, promise).

I didn't confront them, they weren't good friends either, just people who through circumstance ended up being friends. I just stopped answering their calls and deleted the texts. If I do bump into them I'll probably bottle it and say I've lost my phone/changed number:o
They've both stopped trying to get hold of me now.:j

I think most of my friends have given up on me :o
I've not heard from any of them bar best friend in ages, and if I text them it often goes unanswered.

Is it just me or do some posts on this H&B board (not us) seem to be getting more aggro?

Absolutely. Why do people feel the need to be so rude? The one I 'm thinking of was ridiculous.

I rarely reply to my texts now, but good friends know not to try and get me on my mobile. I never know where it is, or it has no charge.
IMHO I don't think you need or have time for many true friends, I have lots of social acquaintances but only a handful of true ones, ones I could tell anything to and call anytime in a crisis.
The ones who only want to be your friend when everything is rosy are not worth investing much time or effort in.

Coco, sorry your first post kind of got lost a bit there I think, was it help finding a dress for your friend's 30th? When's it yours btw is 1980 your birth year too?
If you let us know your shape, size, height, any areas you want to play up or down, colouring, budget, prefered style or any celebs that you admire their style, what sort of party it is etc we'll get straight on it.

Yeah Vicki I'm the (wee)30 :D in November, I am 5ft3 and a half and a size 16 just going into a 14 so size wise depends on the shop, I am heavier on top than bottom and would love some stuff that hides my tummy and makes my chest look smaller:o
i know not asking for much am I?
my style at the moment is very boring, I would love to be more adventurous, would like to try some maxi dresses this year but not sure if I'm too small:o

Thanks Vicki, I know what you mean,
and I also fully acknowledge that I'm not in any fit state for the days out we used to have,
even going up to Tesco which is a five minute walk requires a sit down part way, and going to cafes for coffee and a chat does get boring after a while.

I seem to be having one of those emotionally charged days,
too much thinking going on in my head.

DB do you ever meditate? It might be a way of stopping thinking.

I do, but getting comfy is an issue at the moment.

I'm going to get myself dress/made up, I'll feel better for that!

I know what u mean about friends too..had a bit of a realisation, when I worked at the bar (left about a yr ago) I was "good friends" with a lot of the girls there I thought, we spent a lot of time together, but when I left the age gap (they all went to college) started to show a bit more..I'm not the kind of person who's happy with a studenty lifestyle, so kinda lost touch with them because I stopped making the effort to always be the one to call etc..
So now although I have less friends, the ones I still have are the ones who stick around..the better ones..
