    Morning ladies,
Sorry I'venot been around much, just super busy/disorganised and trying not to get distracted. Got my parents coming up on Tuesday to stay for a few days so I need to clear out the laundy/storage that is clogging up the spare room! and also no blogging while they're here. I'd be mortified if they saw my blog, or even knew about it. They wouldn't get it!
I'm hoping that I'm still going to my friends for lunch today but I'd lost my phone for a few days and not sure what time. Got to do a big shop but I might to a tiny one today to see me through to tomorrow and go when the Supermarkets aren't so rammed. Also hoping to get out to the woods with Dylan so he can be a boy and get muddy.
What have you all got planned for the day?
    xx

    Wow Vicki, you are busyyyyyyyyyy!

I'm not doing much bar visiting my grandparents and popping to Tesco for something to eat tonight; Sundays we make an effort to sit at the table and eat as a family
and although I wont eat the roast my parents do, I'm going to find *some* alternative so I can join them instead of avoiding it like I have the last few weeks :o

How's it going with you challenges DB? What have you tried and found OK this week? At the moment I can't get enough asparagus, and veggie sushi. Dylan threw a tantrum in Morrisons yesterday as we popped in for some lunch, he wanted sushi but this one didn't stock it ooops! It was soon resolved by letting him smell the flowers though. I sometimes wonder about him!
(the soft play birthday party we went to served chips for the kids who were only 1-2 year olds  even more:eek::eek::eek: was they all gave them to their kids except me and I was the one getting disaproving looks:(

It's going okay-ish I think :) I finally defrosted some of my homemade soup and have swapped cup a soups for that.
And I'm going to have a good think about tonight, I might get some fish (cod?) and grill it with some root veg.

Bless Dylan, I love how healthy his attitude to food is. Nothing wrong with chips as an occasional treat, but when that's what children are used to it really makes me sad.
  • Hi all, what a gorgeous day it is today, I wish I had the energy to go running! I used to really enjoy it but have got rather unfit over the winter...
I had a big (for me) shopping spree yesterday which was partly inspired by reading all your posts and blogs on here. I tend to be too unadventurous, but stepped out of my comfort zone a bit. I bought 2 dresses (one from DP, grey and black striped jersey with kinda ruched short sleeves which I'll wear with my trusty skinny jeans, and one from NL, grey kinda fuzzy stuff with buttons all the way down: http://www.newlook.co.uk/1853372/185337201/ProductDetails.aspx?extcam=AFF_AFW_LynkU+-+Evening+Standard)

I also bought a wide waist belt (ooh, that's new for me!) with a tied leather bow effect, and a bright pink cardi, both from DP, and a pink bead necklace, which matched the cardi and was half price. That's a lot for me to buy all at once but am very excited about my stash!

I've got to work later today - I work for an orchestra and am organising an education event before tonight's concert, but before then I'll be going to Sainsbury's (oh the glamour) and trying to prepare for my appraisal which is tomorrow... I have a big scary form but because I've only been in the job 6 months it's a bit weird as I've basically been getting the hang of things and doing what I'm told. Oh well.

Have a great day everyone and enjoy the sunshine!

Hooray for eating nice soup, that packet stuff is bleugh! I don't eat fish but it sounds like a good sensible meal, have you tried steaming things in the oven in tin foil, it's a great way of getting moisture and flavour into chicken and fish without adding fat. Make a little foil envelope and pop in your meat/fish then throw in some veg, herbs, garlic anything goes really and then a couple of tbsp of liquid, either wine, lemon juice, or water. Then fold it all up so that there's room for the steam to circulate but fold the opening over a few times so the steam stays inside, then pop it in the oven to cook. Would be a heathy alternative to grilling which is quite dry sometimes.
Just trying to think of ways to make your food a bit more appetising.

I think I'm odd as I prefer my protein to be quite dry :o lol.

I really ought to think about getting dressed...

    Morning all.

Rachel- sounds like you bought some nice things. I recently bought some waist belts too and I've found I'm wearing them quite a bit- they give more shape to outfits and show off my waist.

    Today I'm wearing:
    - jeggings (Primark)
    - white long top (Debenhams sale)
    - beige short sleeved long jumper with brown waist belt (Jane Norman in the sale)
    - purple necklace (can't remember where I got this- think it may have been Sainsburys)
    - UGG style boots (also Primark)

Speak to you all later- I'm off to church now. Have a good morning x
