1. swop them with someone else for something that they grow but you don't
2. put up an advert on Freecycle offering them to anyone willing to pick them.
3. put them in a box outside your gate with a notice saying "Help yourself"0 -
I am also going to suggest Freecycle.
I don't have a garden but we love making jams etc. I put up a wanted post on Freecycle and went today to pick some damsons out of a lovely lady's garden. She was happy for us to clear the tree as far up as we could reach, (even lent us a ladder) because they don't use them and they make a mess on the lawn. We ended up with 7kg, and are making jam, chutney and damson gin.
Apparently plums & damsons freeze quite well if you wash and dry them well first, then just toss them in a bag in the freezer. You said your freezer is full - do you have a relative/friend/neighbour who might let you store some in theirs?
Do you collect your children from school or do they make their own way home? How about taking a load into school, bagged up into convenient sized bags (wilkos do cheapy food bags for pennies, their medium sized ones would be a perfect size - or nick a handful of the 'loose produce' bags from the supermarket!) and give them away to other parents, or put them in the staffroom with a 'help yourself' sign.
If you have that many, you could try a car boot sale, selling both fresh plums and some of your jams etc.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -
This happened to me last year (not so many plums this year!) I made and bottled some Chinese plum sauce. I seem to have mislaid the recipe since then, but there are lots around on the internet. If we are supposed to be thin, why does chocolate exist?0
