Flexible syns are more to do with your head. Basically if you've got a big day/evening/whatever comming up and you know you're going to go over your syns, try and work out what the total number of syns will be. Then stick to it. It really means you're less likely to get on a spiral slope to the whole day being a write off, and then think the same the next day and the next etc and then think, oh I'll just start again after next weigh in. It's to keep you in control.

    Does that make sense??

Oh right, but you surely don't lose if you do that? I'll get back to it after anyway, am so determined!

Flexible syns is only for very occasional use. If you do it all the time you won't loose weight, or at least not very much. It's just a way of staying in control so you don't feel like you've 'blown it' and carry on eating badly.
