Wednesday already! Where has the week gone?! (Not that I'm complaining mind, bring on Friday I say!)
Flutterby glad to hear you are feeling a bit better, try not to overdo it today though
Big welcome to Rabbit sorry to hear about the situation with your BF. Hope it gets sorted soon so you can start to move on
Jackieglasgow Congrats on the new addition to the family
Coco is a gorgeous name as well!
JC Hope all goes well at the hospital today, that's a great story about the doctor :rotfl:
JackieO Happy birthday to Jack :bdaycake:and enjoy your meal with the family tonight
Not much going on OS wise for me, I've been treated to a new BM so am off to pick that up at lunch as they tried (unsuccessfully) to deliver it yesterday. So I'm sure I'll have loaves coming out of my ear soon
Am going to be a little more on the ball with the washing tonight as well, put dinner on (Lancs hotpot) and then tackle the remainder of the kitchen from the weekend.
Hope everybody has a good day, OS or not.

Morning all..................((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) if you need one.
I was AWOL yesterdaynot sure why but the day got away from me somehow.
PP pleased for you that all went well, my firends husband funeral was yesterday, I have sent her flowers for this morning......so she knows she is in our thoughts.
DS2 went home at lunchtime yesterday, he texted to say he was home safe at 7pm last night. He had done so much whilst he was here, yesterday morning he made 4 more planters from the wood he had left ove from the wood store. It was nice to have him here for a few days. He said he enjoyed Mums cooking for a change. He lives on his own, so cooks for himslef. I gave him my slow cooker some time ago, so he puts his supper in before he goes to work and its all cooked ready when he gets home.
I did not go to the quilt group yesterday, the bed was delivered in the morning so we went and collected some bedding after DS2 had gone. I have to give the bed room a good clean, the window was a real mess, so suar soap on the paint work and then see just how bad the woodwork is.
I cooked at lunchtime so DS had a hot meal before he set off for his trip home, so we had cheese and tomato sandwiches and a hot cross bun each for supper last night........
Its very cold this morning, the wind is coming from Russia, there was sleet when we first got up but it seems to have turned to rain.....we do not have to go out today so jobs to do around the house and a menu for 2 weeks sorted out.
I need to investigate Tesco at North Berwick I think its bigger than the one in Haddington. I have noticed that Haddington does not seem to have so much of the basic price stuff.
OH has an appointment at the Drs tomorrow so I will go with him and then go on to Aldi, I find I am buying more and n more from there and less from Tesco, its a pity they do not sell bread flour.
Time to go, I need to put a loaf on and get cleaning........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Morning everyone! Hope you're all doing okay today?
It's a cold day here, but not too bad. No more snow, but there's a gale forecast for tomorrow
DH is off in Glasgow for an MRI scan of his ankle and neck. He's been diagnosed with arthritis lately and is swallowing prescribed painkillers like sweeties. Fingers crossed they'll be able to tell him some more after the scan.
Lunch will be soup and bread, not sure about dinner yet as it depends which flight DH gets home - freezer roulette could be the food game this evening. I'm meeting up with a friend that I got back in touch with via FB after work for a coffee, so looking forward to that.
Have a good day everyone!0 -

Morning all
Just dropped DS at school and called at Co op to do food top up. Redruby we have been doing the fortnightly shop for a couple of months now and it is working and saving money;)...I did once stretch it 3 weeks but the cupboards were very bare by the time the next delivery came:rotfl:.
Am doing my online shop today to be delivered next week. More snow here last night but it is melting now...have had enough of it.
MSD I might have cheese savoury sandwiches for lunch you have made me fancy them......and Fatcat Mia will be racing Treacle to Sunnydays to get first dibs on the tuna:D. She is currently glued to cat tv ( the goldfish tank;))
For tea today we will be having HM meatloaf from the freezer and jacket potatoes...will make a fresh tomato sauce to go with it. DS is having sausage mash and peas:cool:......am still trying to sort out the food situation with him. I have made a list of meals to try him on, once I have found a few he likes I will batch cook and freeze some for ease.
Am enjoying my week off just pottering, although these pre menstrual migraines are killing me:(
I want to clear some cupboards out today but am waiting to see if binmen are coming or not.....usually a couple of flakes of snow puts them off for a week or so:p
By the way the amaryllis "willy plant" that OH got me for valentines in still going strong.....just starting to flower and looks even ruder with a red bud at the top:p;):rotfl:0 -
Morning peeps
grey and miserable here, very foggy too this morning. On the plus side we didn`t get as much snow as we expected and its a lot warmer and thawing so no ice to contend with. Just had a quick peep at the forecast and no more just yet so thats something to be thankful for.
The houndies have been for their walk and are both dozing quietly, little oldie really tired himself out as lots of his pals were out this morning so he went a bit mad
its lovely to see him enjoying himself. Younger houndie has almost destroyed her ball and it won`t fit into the throwing stick properly so i shall have to pick up a new one for her. Little black cat is sat upstairs in the bay window watching all the birds on the garden. For the first time in ages their water dish wasn`t frozen when i went out to feed them.
W*rk this afternoon and i`m not looking forward to it as i shall be outside for most of the shift but hey ho the sooner i`m there the sooner i`m back. I`ve got one days leave to use up before April so i`ve booker Saturday off so that i can take Dad to the shops and spend an evening with DH.
Chilli & rice for tea tonight, i`ve already made that and portioned it up so that DH can reheat his later and mine is tupperwared up ready to take with me. Not much else happening really, i shall hop in the shower shortly then swish around the bathroom and the main bedroom then check my mealplanner so that i don`t fall behind with things.
Rabbit ((((HUGS)))) i know that it dosen`t feel like it now but things will get better.
Tired Mum - Enjoy your time with your pal.
MSD - You`ve done really well with your plants, i`ve only got as far as bringing the compost in to warm in pots and sorting the seeds out, the snow really put me off but in the next few days i hope to have made a start and also have some potatoes chitting.
Has anyone heard from Molly41 recently? I was wondering how she is.
Must make a move, all this talk of tuna has made me hungry
Enjoy your days peeps.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon

Morning all
Bit late today have had a busy morning so far thought I had cleared all the washing yesterday but lo and behold it procreated in the night and I have another washing bin full - now on third load and about another three to go
Cleaned downstairs DD doing upstairs got some bread dough proving going to make Bagels today DD's fave as a thank you for her help.
DS not 16 yet but got his NI card in the post today ........he is staying on at school though to do A level Maths, Chemistry and Physics he wants to be an engineer so after A levels he wants to go to Uni - his sis goes back in September .......Long story But basically she did a year and passed the first year with a creditation and the Uni in their effort to save money decided that there were not enough people on her course and changed everyone to a course that they didn't want so they all dropped out.
Thankfully she has applied for another course and been accepted I just hope that the student loan isn't such a fiasco as it was when she applied before:mad:
Glad to get that lot off my chest :rotfl:

Hi everyone,
My appointment was actually yesterday. I now have a date for the op (in 2 weeks time) and more info on what they found, which is apparently quite a rare thing (trust me). I've been doing a bit of research on the web, which could be quite alarming if I was the worrying type, but I try to think of the best outcome rather than the worst until I have the detail.
Anyhoo, I didn't do a lot of oS last night and probably won't have time today because I'm at work all day and then have a work related meeting tonight.
Hugs to all in need and Happy Birthday to Jack.0 -
Hi all,
Not done much in the house yet,but when I got in from taking the dog,I decided to shift some logs and have a bit of a tidy n the garden while I had my coat and boots on
The snow last night didnt stick, and it seemed mild, but I've also loaded the coal scuttle and laid the fire in case it goes colder later.
I've decided to do a soup night tonight,so will make some rolls in a bit-not decided what soup yet, prob butternut. There is some apple pie and Victoria sponge left from yesterdays DH birthday tea,so we can have that too.I announced to DH that BBird,Sunnyday, and ButterflyB wished him a H.Birthday,he was very surprised and said thanks very much
.Also Bitsy thanks for your good wishes for DS1 on the job front.
A friend called onher way home from work,we hadnt eaten, but the pie and cake were cooling on the side.As DH put it 'she could talk a glass eye to sleep' (apologies if anyone has one)As she said her OH was away for the night I swear she was angling to stay to eat,but I'd done pizza and there wasn't enough really.
Anyway the workers have called home unexpectedly, better see if they want feeding.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Afternoon everyone
.
I have not managed to do much this morning, put wm on early this morning.
Had to go to DS's school to help take the yr 2 & 3 swimming, what a nightmare, after the wk off they were all over the place. We have to walk them down the hill from the school to the bus and 2 of the younger one's managed to trip over.
Just had a quick cheese sarni before my friend calls for a coffee.
Flutterby, so glad you are feeling better but stil take it slow for now
.
Jackie, you will have a great little friend now
, my little dog was going to be dumped at the age of 13 wks so I rescued him, he's now 6 yrs old and my very best friend, I had always had cats before him so I just treated him like I would the kids, told him off when bad (well was more dissapointed realy
) and praised his good behaviour and he has been so good ever since. 2 yrs ago he was hit by a car and fractured his pelvis in 3 places everyone said have him put down but I wouldnt now we have our go faster pills every morning (cod liver oil & glucosamine)& he has no probs
.
Rabbit, glad you are taking ech day at a time, its the best way ((hugs)) for you
.
I will call back again later, my friend is here now.
Kind wishes and hugs to all
