Put in an offer on a place that was accepted on thursday.
One of the conditions of this offer was that the property be removed from the market.
Its still on rightmove (tuesday night) and on the agent's website. I have phoned to complain both today and on saturday only to be fobbed off with stories about how it takes a while for changes to appear on rightmove. I dont believe this. Not least because its still on the agents own website!
To be honest, considering the sums of money involved, I'm beginning to become a little bit reluctant to deal with these people if they cant be open and honest.
Am I over-reacting? Or am I under-reacting?
Half of me says take a chill while the other half says withdraw the offer.

It take less than one minute to take a property of rightmove and one would expect the same of the agents own website.
As for how anger you should be? Take the chill pill, sit back and watch the telly.
Then 9am tomorrow morning phone the agent and say if it is not removed from the internet within 3 mins, then you will withdraw your offer ( upto you if you do that or not )0 -
lol we did this and my OH called "anonymously" to request a viewing to see if they would allow it ... They asked for his name and the silly man gave his full real name, which is quite a unique name. The EA was a bit confused to put it mildly ....
anyway, it was off their site the next day so he must have got the hint!0 -
Hi,
Just to let you know when our offer was accepted on a property they said they would stop marketing it and it had a SSTC on it that night, on rightmove, And that was on a saturday, so it can be done quicker.0 -
I thought changes on rightmove updated overnight?0
-
It depends on the time of day that changes are done to Rightmove - I believe as Millie says, some changes occur overnight or at best a few hours. However, the OP is saying since last week so there really is no excuse!0

Thanks all.
I think what has me really narked is the way the EA insults my intelligence with these silly excuses.
I really am wondering if I should be doing business with these people.Mortgage debt - [STRIKE]£8,811.47 [/STRIKE] Paid off!0 -
In all honesty I wouldn't bother about it. It does take time, maybe they had a lot of stuff to do ... and it's for the seller's to instruct them to take it off.
Mentally the EA's flogged that house, to you, so they won't be interested in flogging it to anybody else. The only thing they can gain from it would be people phoning in and they'd say "Oh that one's gone ...." trying to create an urgency, a rush.
It is not in the EA's interest to now find a second buyer for the house you've offered on, they're more interested in selling one of the others they've got on their books.0 -
PN hits the nail on the head. My Mum is seriously looking for a house right now and has rang up about a couple that are already under offer, it always amazes me that most EAs do not offer to put Mum on a 'waiting list/on file' should the offer/sale fall through as it often does these days? Mum always asks anyway but it strikes me as odd - you would think an EA would want a potential 'second buyer' lined up just in case....0

I too confirm that it only takes seconds to remove a property from rightmove. Not the same, but we went to view a house to rent yesterday - went back to the letting agency afterwards to collect the application form, etc - as soon as we left the LA, we checked rightmove on my fiances iPhone and it had been removed.0
