  • Oh dear, I have spent a fair bit today. OH & I went into town together & had a lovely lunch with one of his work friends and then had a stroll round the shops & market. It is a rare thing for OH to come into town with me and I think I got a bit carried away with feeling so relaxed & happy etc that we ended up spending about £45. It was aslo very nice having someone to help carry all the bags as normally if I walk into town after going to the gym, my arms & fingers hurt like mad trying to carry the milk, veg & toilet rols from Farm Foods etc back to the car on my own. Oh well, signature updated.

  • Have done my main shopping for this week, which came in at £9.80. I think I should hopefully not have to spend more than another £10 on groceries this week, so maybe I might come in under budget! Especially if a friend gets round to giving me the money they owe me for fish and chips...

Spent way to much today so I am now already over budget Needed things like soap powder/cleaning stuff but also just bought stuff that I didn`t really need. this is definetly a learning curve as its more about learning to stay out of shops than anything else.
Make £2 a day challenge - doing well so far.

NEVER EVER take OH to supermarket with you - now you'd think I'd know this but yesterday managed to go with him for the first time in a year (as we were out anyway) and have completely blown the budget.
I was going to be over budget anyway but maybe by about £25 but now it's blown out of the water!

I'm going to have to write off this month (good job its the last week) and start again next Saturday with a new month.

Am officially skint now! He's going to give me about £15 for the extras that ended up in the trolley (magazine, cards, beer, pick and mix) but the extra food will just have to stay and get used up over the next two weeks.

We certainly don't need anything else this month so I will retire gracefully and look forward to next Saturday!
  • Hi everyone

still on track but have free delivery from Mr.A. so think I will use it for "heavy items". You know washing powder, juice etc will save me having to carry it as the delivery men are very kind and carry the order right into my kitchen. Might mean I will be slightly over budget this month but will try to keep it to a minimum.

For all of those who are struggling, don't give up hope. Read my sig. and remember even small changes make a difference.
It takes a long time to eat an elephant and I'm doing it a bite at a time!!!
