In this cold weather do you and your partner/wife , hubby etc, agree on when to have the heating on, the fire on etc and for how long or does it cause rows. Do you feel the same way?
It was mentioned in the paper today as one of the things that causes the most trouble?

We agree. It's on 17 degrees in the evening and 16.5 during the night. It took time to get used to the colder temperature from my side but just put on 2 jumpers:). And if I am really cold than I turn it up by one degree and stand next to the radiator for ten min:).0

We have old central heating so no timer switch, you have to manually turn each rad on.
DH goes round turning them off as i close windows and put them on again LOL!
We don`t argue over it though, dh is always hot even in the big `so called` freeze! Our flat is never cold though as we get heat from both neighbours (i think) plus we have a boiler room in our flat that gives off a lot of heat.
Nothing worse then feeling hot and uncomfortable so i just pop on a jumper if i`m feeling cold.DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

We agree as well, 15 at night, 16 during the day (when at home) and the evening. Sometimes the fire if we are lucky.
Sometimes if I'm away, she may change her mind and not agree, when I come home, we tend to agree again

We can't agree at all! OH would have all the radiators on all the time at the highest temp poss and I like it a little less tropical!! I feel a bit bad cause now he goes round with his thick coat - 3 layers underneath and a hat on all the time - works out much cheaper though!!!0

nope no arguments if one of us is cold we get up go to the utility room and hit the one hour boost button. But other than that during winter the heat comes on one hour before we get up to get ready and go to work and again in the evening half an hour before we get home, in the summer its off and we just hit the one hour button as and when its cold.0

We are hardly ever in tune...:rotfl:I hate the weekends as OH has the heat on all day and evening . We do have it off at night but if he's in the house he wants the heat on.. I am home all day and generally manage with it off for most of the day ( I am rarely parked in one seat with the tv on, I potter all day) or if its really parky on 15* but before he comes in I put it up to 17* then its whacked up to 20* cos "its bladdy freezing in here", so no we don't agree on the heating...
I am dreading him retiring for this reason only , even now at the weekend I have to go out for a walk cos the house is too hot and don't even get me started on why I need the windows open for a couple of hours in the mornings  its like a comedy act , I open , he shuts , I open , he shuts... :rotfl:Its a good job we can laugh about it...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

If I'm hot my oh is cold, if I'm cold my oh is hot!! He says there's something wrong with me but I know its him! However, its all light hearted and we never row about it - one of us just has to put a jumper on.0

My OH daren't twiddle with my thermostat knob

We are both very much in tune though and like the house a similar temp. The only time we disagree is first thing in the morning when I hate the house too hot while I'm trying to get ready for work.
I couldn't live in the temp some of you do, 16c, that's blooming freezing! 21c is the norm in our house.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Couldn't live with the heating on only in the morning and evening for couple of hours, whether I was home or not ......the house would be freezing!! My heating is on continually from 5am till 10pm every day. I like the house warm and comfortable enough to only wear a jumper. We have the temp at roughly 23 during the day and let it drop from 10pm onwards (heating off).0
