  • i got a parking `charge` from parking eye after using a blackpool carpark that has always been £2 to park all day, i then got a this `charge` in the post after the cheeky gits got my details from DVLA 2 weeks later. they had photos of my car entering & leaving the car park but not actually parked in a bay!,,also stated that it is now only £2 for 4 hours & £2.50 allday, i didnt see any notices on pay machines etc...ive ignored this letter dated 12 march, in the meantime they sent me another 2 letters demanding money , so in the space of 3 weeks from the date of parking i recieved 3 letters!,,surely thats harrassment!?,,even the council give you 30 days to pay before issuing another letter giving another 30 days before threatening court action!..i have since recieved another 2 letters from debt recovery threatening court action,,thats 5 letters in 2 months,,ofcourse i am not going to pay these bullies & have no intention of contacting them to discuss the charge,,they can whistle for it!...they have no evidence of me actually parking in the carpark apart from a pay & display ticket purchased, although on many occassions i have used the carpark & returned later on in day to park up while collecting kids from school, not always being able to get a space so therefore leaving & parking elsewhere!!...how the heck do these companies get away with threatening people?...i feel sorry for the people who do actually pay up for fear of beig taken to court!

Tina, you were lucky I spotted you posting on the end of such an old, long thread.

However, you do seem to be doing quite well on your own. Blackpool. A PPC versus a "Lancashire lass"? I almost feel sorry for the PPC.

There have been a couple of court judgements very recently, which we hope will be the beginning of the end for this national scandal. Rogue clampers will be outlawed in October. Rogue ticketers will be next.

You don't sound like you need too much help from us, Misstina! We will have Parking Eye posting asking if we can offer them any advice as to how they can defend themselves from YOU!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have also had two letters from Parking Eye and one from CCSCOLLECT Debt Collectors telling me that they intend to recover the full amount owing of now £110.00. I have read the posts concerning this and am holding fast on my intention not to pay but am just slightly concerned as to whether or not they could put the charge against me on my credit rating as an unpaid debt. Maybe someone could clarify this point for me.

I just received one myself... for waiting for someone in a Morrison.. without getting a valid ticket! So I just e-mailed them offering to pay for the ticket (£1.00) also explaining that The Bill of Rights says "And several grants and promises made of fines and forfeitures before any conviction or judgment against the persons upon whom the same were to be levied"... so their "penalty" is not only unlawful, but also void. I told them that if they carry on trying to extort money from me I will complain to OFT!
If they do not accept me paying the original ticket (invoice), then they will never be able to justify in court claiming £50 or £80!

The funny thing is that the Bill of Rights is messing with the Traffic Law also.. according with it all the penalties and fines given without a court judgement are void, including the ones given by the council! If you all notice, on a PCN is wrote something like "by paying it you accept the liability".. so if i do not accept the liability, how can you pay it??? Anyway, you will not find judges openly agreeing that .. all the PCN are void and the Traffic Law is against the Bill of Rights, but they will be very open in accepting any other grounds in appealing a PCN as long as you mention the Bill of Rights.

Only the traffic penalties are different (speeding and traffic offences) those are going to the Magistrate Court!!! The parking tickets (I mean the Council not any other private parking lot) are going to the County Court! Huge difference!

My advice! Send them an e-mail, and offer to pay the original ticket (it can't be more then a couple of pounds) if they refuse, ignore them! If it comes to court, you do have your proof you had the intention to pay for using their lot... so such a charge would not be reasonable from their part!

    Never call them!

    Good Luck!

Yes, that is in line with my current thinking. If you indistisputably SHOULD have paid a fair fee, then offer it. That will destroy any ability to take you to court for a PPC penalty charge; not that that looks on the cards for the time being given the recent Court decisions...

    Hello, welcome to MSE!

Before you consider placing a reply here -

    PLEASE DON'T!!!!!!!!!!!

This thread is VERY OLD & ANNOYINGLY, POINTLESSLY LONG, please do not reply here.

In fact even reading this old thread for long is a waste of your time. We have threads from today!!

The reason why I am asking this is things alter in the parking world - also it is easier to follow and offer advice in our current threads - why not read them instead?

    Many thanks

Can you please start a new thread instead for advice, but the best thing is to just read the CURRENT threads you will find when you click back just one click (see my signature for where to click). Easy.
Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam

  • I received a ticket from Parking eye asking for £70 from me as I had not input my registration into a machine near the entrance, My wife and I simply did not see this and the signs outside were minimal in size (we only noticed them on our return a week later) As I only bought a couple of items and paid with cash I have no hard evidence to prove I was there.

Do I have to pay this or ignore it as others say? I have appealed and they have ignored it despite me having numerous witnesses.:mad::mad::mad:

I have news for you, buddy, you could have the Queen, the Pope, and the President of the U.S. of A giving evidence for you and they would still turn down your appeal. Their "appeal system" is a sham designed to get you to supply your details so they don't have to pay DVLA for them.

But fortunately, since the ticket is a total fake- a scam- there is no way that you have to pay it. You paid for your parking so you are in the clear.

Simply ignore them from now on. After sending a few threatening letters they will realise that you've rumbled them and will simply go away.

Edit: Cross-posted with you C-M. As there was a similar notice right above the new post I have the feeling that head and brick wall spring to mind. Someone really ought to lock these threads, only answer.
