Thanks coffee-break for your kind wishes...it has been hard being on the other side of the world (he and sis-in-law lived on an island in Vancouver Bay). She is coming over in May I think to have a memorial for him with the family on this side of the pond (I think she might be bringing some of his ashes to scatter, not sure though).
As to the knitting, the gloves don't have fingers...and I got the patern link from this knitting thread. I know it is a huge thread, but the folk are wonderful and you get lots of lovely patterns (or links to them!).
...will go and hunt for the link...here it is! A simple pattern, but quite effective...I have done two pairs so far and plan on making lots more...I wear the first pair I made every day, what with the cold weather we've had this winter!
Not sure if I will get much knitting done this evening after all, as I have spent too long on here...oh well, I will get the casting on done as well as a few rows done before bed.
Night night everyone...have a good week!
Hope your niece does make it over in May, Keiss, that'd be lovely :grouphug:. Chat about the good times and reminisce about things with her. It'll be sad and wonderful at the same time. Wish you all the best :grouphug:.
Thanks for the links, Keiss. I'll have a good read of those later. Just need to find me knitting needles and buy some wool! Hope you managed to get some knitting done last night. I know what you mean though.... i'm on this website far too much, it can't be healthy
. I tried cross-stitch a couple of months ago, but couldn't get to grips with it. I went boss-eyed trying to read the instructions!
Solvent, if only grapes tasted of chocolate, eh? What a happy and healthy world we'd all live in:rotfl:
I'm claiming NSD no. 3 and it's not even mid-day yet :T. Bought some essentials this morning and spent wisely .
Have a good day y'all.

Double celebrations today...first, I have managed an NSD, the first for March...only 14 more to go!
Second (and I feel slightly more important!) my DS2 has been picked for the Scotland under-17s rugby team!!! :j:j
I have been on edge all day since the envelope came (I didn't open it..but it did have Scottish Rugby all over it!)...glad he had a half-day, I don't think I could have held out to five this evening!!
I tried to get some sewing done...but I couldn't concentrate and kept making mistakes...so have been planting garlic cloves instead!!
At least now we know what we will be doing the four weekends after this one. The first three he will be up in Scotland training and playing, and at Easter he is taking part in a week-long tournament!
It's another lovely day so I will go and get more things done in the greenhouse/garden before walking the dog...
Have a great day everyone...I know I will!
Apologies again for going off-topic!
Another good thing, he will get LOADS of free kit, and travelling expenses...so will help with our finances too!!
Can you tell I am proud of my baby (all 6'2" and 17.5 stone of him...yes, he is a prop!).....can you???!!:D
