LOVE the first outfit ~ the 2nd one doesn't do it for me as i think the fabric is a little too shiney, but that's just my opinion of course! :)

    Thanks :D

I see what you mean, but at least she has founs something :rotfl: Only took her 18 months

We're not actually having clothing in orange just flowers. (couldn't get the cravats we wanted in the right colour, they didn't go with the waistcoats OH liked)
The flowers are mango calla lillies, the mums are having corsages in Ivory calla lillies.

I too like the cut of the second one, I think mum prefers someting with sleeves not straps.

That's what my daughter was going to have! She was having them in silk as she's gettimg married abroad and her friend was going to make them for her but the warehouse we were getting them from doesn't do them anymore!
I think if you're having an 'evening' wedding ie late afternoon into the evening then the purple will go as it's an evening type fabric but if it's an earlier time then I'd go with the silver grey.

I have a pair of shoes and a bag that would go with the first dress ( the bronze one) I wore a similar colour for my brother's wedding a few years ago...

If you are near Bury you might be on or near the X43 bus route, get up to Boundary Mill near Colne they have some great MOB outfits there. I have some very happy memories of the day I spent there with my Mum getting her sorted for my sister's wedding.

Your mum is supposed to match?! Nah, can't be bothered with that. She'll turn up in whatever she decides to wear!

Help! Both my sons are getting married this year so the outfit budget is really stretched!
The first wedding in June is a formal affair (morning suits etc.) while the second in October is more casual. I'm a jeans and T-shirt type so completely not used to dressing up, plus I'm not a standard dress size, being 12/14 on top and 10/12 below. Because of various operations I've had I can't wear strapless, low-cut or fine strappy dresses. I've always had good tips from MSE forums before so please - does anyone know a good value shop with plenty of choice in the Surrey/Kent/London area?? I've been to House of Fraser, John Lewis and similar shops without success and looked on ebay but I really need to try things on for the fit/coverage. I'd be so so grateful for any help/advice. Many thanks.
