Got a bit overwhelmed earlier at the enormity of clearing up the bedroom, its truly awful. Started off binning loads of stuff and then couldn't find the bin bags...argh...so had to stop. Don't overdo it... babysteps and dot-2-dotting please...

I'm having a real think about what to do with stuff that hardly ever gets used but there's a lot of it, thinking space taken to time used ratio.

    Things like;

camping gear including numerous tents, airbeds, sleeping bags Go camping

camping cooking gear, including numerous gas canisters (full), cooker, lights, plastic plates, saucepans. Go camping... and use up the gas canisters one at a time

    Water carrier

Bedding cupboard with stuff that never gets used, needs to go this lot. Definitely needs to go, if you don't use it, then get rid of it.

3 garages...2 of which are rented, full of motorbikes, engines and my trike, just left rotting...:o Sounds like, tough as it is, this lot need to go too. At least get yourself down to one garage so you don't have to rent the others.

The attic, full of boxes of rubbish and stuff that I don't even know what it is plus christmas decorations. Cull the decs... get rid of all the tatty ones. And get the rest of the stuff down when you've got some space and go through it. Mind you, if you don't know what's in there you could just charity shop it, but you really should ebay what you can.

Millions of cards and photos, I'm going to have to be ruthless re the cards. That's a tough one :(

Albums, they take up an alcove but we never play them, loads of old punk, metal etc but they never get played.:( Sorry, but if you don't play them, sell them...

Clothes, I'm sure they breed, this needs a major, ruthless going through....plus my wedding dress, its never going to be worn again, shame really, needs dry cleaning and sold. Photograph and sell. Tough, but you need the space. If you CBA to sell, then charity shop just to get the space.

Bookcases and cabinets full of books, piles of books in every room, these can be sold. Sell if you have the energy. If not, then charity shop to make space for clearing out the other stuff.

Toys, they don't get played with they are just cluttering up the youngests room and she has no space anyway. Can you persuade her to do the ebaying?

Luckily I have a week off next week so I can get on to it all without distractions, half term wasn't good health wise or having head space wise so I didn't manage to get musch done, well nowhere near what I'd have liked.

Apologies for my musings but I'm starting to feel a bit more 'normal' and I need to formulate a plan to resume the grand declutter.
Can you get your DDs to join in the declutter and help with the sorting, photographing and ebaying? You've got a mammoth task ahead, and I know you need the cash, but how about sorting out the charity shop/tip stuff FIRST so that you have room to deal with the stuff you need to ebay.

No flying today... more cake decorating. I'm also half way through my presentation for next week (at last!). Sadly behind on my publication schedule yet again...

Yes they can but I need to sort the groundwork out first, then delegate.;)

Good idea, must get a job lot of binbags too.

Ta for you're thoughts, they're appreciated. Considering I've gone through the house a few times, I'm amazed at just how much stuff here still is.

    Morning lovely flyladies,

Toots - smooch.gifGlad you have no snow and that you are alright.
Rosepink - hugs.gif Hope you have a good day today.
LadyL - love.gifThe only reason I chatted so long was cos you seemed so down honey! I will try to ensure no donkeys lose their legs next time.hugs.gif
Jinkypinks - kiss.gifMorning hon, hope all is well.
Poppy - Hope the mammogram went OK
Sandy - sorry again for your loss.
    Jinky - recipe for you
    Divas Peanut Butter Cookies
    1/2 cup / 4.5oz butter or marg
    1/2 cup / 4oz granulated sugar
    1/2 cup / 4oz brown sugar
1/2 cup / 5.5oz peanut butter - (crunchy or smooth or a mix of the two)
    1 egg
    3/4 tsp bicarb of soda
    1/2 tsp baking powder
1 & 1/4 cup / 5.5 oz sieved flour (I have used self raising and plain and either works)
    1/4 tsp salt
    • Cream butter and sugar and p/b together. Beat in egg and then stir in all other ingredients.
    • Shape dough into balls, place on lightly greased baking sheets.
    • If the dough seems very wet, add a little more sieved flour
    • Dip fork into flour and then press down onto the balls to make ridges. The flour stops the fork sticking to the dough.
    • Bake at 180 degrees/350 degrees F for about 10 mins.
    Makes about 26.

Could I have a big blast of flylady positive vibes for 1430 today please? My OT and the SW are coming for a meeting.
Our shower broke last night which is a huge problem. It is under 2 yrs old so hope it is still under the manufacturers warrenty.
head%20cold.gifHope all the poorly flyladies feel better today.
    Off to find my list.

 Boiler AND DW both appear to be on strike... and I have to go out imminently and won't be back till tomorrow evening....

... at a guess, it must therefore be a problem with the water supply to both, but I can't work it out.

Boiler locks out as soon as heating or hot water are on and light shows the fault is with the flow thermistor (it has done this occasionally in the past and always reset, but won't now).

DW has filled with water, but programme won't move forward... regardless of which programme I put it on.

Oh well... better have a quick wash and get packed and dressed and head off out for a day of cupcake making!
