I believe most DFS sofas are made in China. I know they are cheapish, but it's better to wait and get one in the sale at a decent shop. Even Next have some cheapish sofas now and they are good quality.
Didn't they get in trouble for using small film sets top make the sofas look bigger?
Plus, they are the ugliest flipping things you have ever seen.....0 -
I was very apprehensive about buying from DFS - especially as the sofa, recliner and foot stool were costing over £2k. We searched everywhere else but couldn't find anything we wanted and so went to DFS and placed the order.
The furniture arrived and there was a small mark on one of the sofas. The upholsterer came out and repaired it. That was almost 6 months ago and everything is fine. I'm still waiting for it to fall to pieces as others have found; however there is no sign of it yet. Hopefully everything will be okay.
Would I buy from DFS again? Based upon the current experience, I don't see why not.0 -
sorry, but where is the bargain?0

I've had 2 sofas from DFS, the current one being a corner group. I didn't buy either in the "sale" paid the full price. We've had it almost 3 years and it still looks like new. I'm very happy with it. I think maybe the "sale" goods are poor quality high sellers and the full price stuff is the good quality, it's a theory anyway. Like someone else said, you get what you pay for. I can only think of Ikea that do cheaper sofa's but the leather isn't of the same quality.Mortgage to clear asap! - [STRIKE]£148,874.38 [/STRIKE]as at 1 May 2013£79,176.55 May 2018£59,516.06 July 2019November 2020 £35,914.620

Hi topbargainhunter, is your current corner suite a leather one from DFS?0
-
by the time I had finished paying for my leather suite from DFS, it looked so old, it needed replacing (3 years old!) I was gutted as it wasn't at all cheap, even in one of their 'sales'. I would never buy anything from them again. If you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0

I had my eye on a three seater sofa which was branded 'Crest' in the shop and on the website, and was disappointed to find that that particular model was no longer listed on the website after the winter sale "finished" last night.
I've since had a closer look at the sofas currently listed on the DFS website and the exact same sofa is now listed, with the picture reversed, and branded 'Neena'!!!
That's a bit cheeky... bandits.0 -
Yes - because unfortunately some people ARE that gullible! Not everyone is as savvy as MSE members, and companies like DFS depend on there being enough of them out there to con with the artificial sale trick.do they think people are that guilable
Be fair though - even reputable retailers con their customers. How much of the 50% off sale goods you saw in the January sales did you see in the shops at full price before Xmas?? I saw M&S staff stripping their shelves bare on Christmas Eve ready to put out the "reduced" sale items.
In Tesco at the minute you can get Pringles "reduced" from £2 to just £1 a tube. A couple of years ago the standard price for Pringles was about 75p a tube.
There needs to be a law brought in to stop ALL unscrupulous retailers from conning gullible and less aware customers like this. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0
