  • I would also suggest the Samsung from Richer Sounds. I would note that there are better bargains to be had though

Might be an idea to list them for the OP's benefit? ;)

They price match Richer Sounds if you ask in store.

Be aware that Freeview HD starts soon and TVs with it fitted going on sale any moment. Sony already out. Probably means set without HD on the Freeview will be going cheaper
A fool may give advice but the one who takes it is the bigger fool.

I don't have links to hand. I sometimes sell TVs, laptops etc so I generally know what is competitive.

I've just ordered this from Amazon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001UE8LV0/ref=ox_ya_oh_product

Richer Sounds have it for £5 less but it's only available in-store, and the nearest one to me is a 3 hour drive away. It says it's £349 on the John Lewis website.

If I register it with RBS I get an extra 2 yr warranty because I have a Royalties account and I paid for it wth my RBS debit card.

    Hi All,

    A quick update;

I bought the Samsung B40 today from John Lewis, they were BRILLIANT and had no problem at all in price matching Richer Sounds, so I got it for £299.00!!!

Super easy to put together and set up, I managed it on my own in about 20 mins (and I'm a girl!).

    Al x
    WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbs
    Weight today = 17st 6.5lbs
    Loss to date 32.5lbs!!!

I'm sure you'll both be very happy. We've had our 37" B650 for almost a year now and only regret not buying the 40".

  • I have an old Sanyo in the house 8 to 9 years old still sharp picture. Don't know what Sanyo t.v 's are like now but we have several Sanyo products in the house and they are excellent.

Bush we have a flat screen 32" one at work. It's never off has been on almost constantly for 3 years now never had a problem.

Toshiba i have one in my bedroom although only had it for 2 years the picture is fantasically sharp.

I think it must be hit and miss. As one poster has allready said go for a good looking one
