32" LCD TV - Advice on this model please?

I agree with Rik here. Large stores usually just switch on their TV's and leave them running with default settings. All can be adjusted to viewer preferences and virtually none are set correctly upon leaving the factory.
Have a play with as many as you can, and decide which is best for you. Have the shop put a fast moving signal into them if possible (sport or action movie for example) and see how the set handles it.Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0 -
It would not surprise me if the set up the picture to look better on the models they are under the most pressure to shift

Just a word of caution with these smaller flat panel TV's there's a lot of reports going around the net for many models (Sony, LG etc) suffering from picture failure, vertical rainbow lines across the screen, around 15 months into the life of the TV. The fix is usually a panel replacement of £450+ excluding the carriage of the TV to the repair station.
It might be an idea to consider a guarantee of some sort, if it's cheap enough.
We bought a 50'' Panasonic Viera and 11 months later it developed a green line down the screen. We had to have something replaced (can't remember what it was though - could've been a panel too maybe?) Fortunately we bought it locally, and while we had to wait a week for the part we could watch it in the meantime. They took the TV away in the morning and we had it back fixed by teatime. They told me they'd had it with 42'' Viera's but mine was the first 50'' they'd had. Something good to be said for buying from a local independant retailer.
Just to let you know that it's not always the small screens that it happens to. I have a 5 yr guarantee and would recommend getting more than a 12 month one. If I buy a 32'' i'll get an extra 2 yr warranty through my RBS Royalties account as long as I pay with my RBS debit card.0 -
That John Lewis deal on the Sammy is a bargain. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.

Worst advice on the thread. Not a single place I know of EVER actually has them set correctly, and theyre definitely never properly calibrated. So a tv with a potentially amazing looking picture could look cr*p, whilst a 'so so' tv could look (Unnaturaly) good next to it
So your eyesight, colour preferences etc are the same as every other person in this great big whole round world !
Amazing
I did not give advice on this brand or that brand, I said go look see with your eyes and then take advice, ( vision ) how old is the O/P, does he have colour corrected vision ?, a stigmatism maybe, well does he ? ( emotion ) Colour and presentation is an emotional event no two people with perfect eyesight will have the same preferences.
- you said "" I know of EVER actually has them set correctly, and theyre definitely never properly calibrated. So a tv with a potentially amazing looking picture could look cr*p, whilst a 'so so' tv could look (Unnaturaly) good next to it ""- I agree, does that change one iota of what I said ?
- you said "" 50'' Panasonic Viera and 11 months later it developed a green line "" - good observation thanks for passing it on
- I said "" I'm a Samsung man, although their power boards are rubbish "" good observation I'm glad I passed it on
- you said "" Bush flatscreens are not good " - I agree
- you said "" You really dont want a BUSH tv, I'd probably buy this Samsung if it was me ~ "" - I agree, I wouldn't have a Bush if it was free but I'd buy another Samsung !
aliEnRIK, ? you had too much falling down water tonight M8 ?

Cinema screens are (Should be) calibrated
Tvs should be calibrated too
Anything else means your physically changing whats intended to be watched in some way (Much like adding 'bass' to music):idea:0
