Boohoo.com refusing to give refund for product I didn't receive

I have been trying to get a refund out of Boohoo.com for nearly three months now with no success.

I made an order with them last year but did not receive the package; in fairness, this was not their fault. The company who they send their deliveries out is to blame there, as they never actually attempted to deliver it before returning it back to Boohoo. (They claim that they tried twice, but it's interesting that the people I live with work from home and didn't get any calls, and we never had any little slips through the door either)

However, Boohoo are refusing to give me a refund. They state that they will not give me a refund without proof of postage; but how on earth am I supposed to supply proof of postage for something that I never actually received? They always provide a tracking number which is on the website and if you click on my order it clearly says that it was sent out, was not received by me, and that it arrived back at their warehouse just under three months ago. I have contacted them countless times and am getting absolutely nowhere with them, half the time with emails they just ignore them completely, is there anything that I can do?

  • So their tracking system says that they got it back, but they won't admit this?

How did you pay for it?

Contact them by email and officially cancel the order under the terms of the Distance Selling Regulations 2000. Remind them that the right to a full refund is unconditional and should have been paid within 30 days.

If you paid by credit card then ask the card company for a refund. Let them sort it out with the supplier.

I would be taking screen shots of your evidence incase they decide to shut your account down and delete it firstly.

Ultimately if they are being a bad company then you may need to take them to small claims
    Always ask ACAS

Yeah, that's exactly it. They keep telling me to provide proof of postage; but I can't, because I never had the clothing and so I was never able to send it back. On their website when you click my account details it lists all my tracking numbers, and when you click that one it clearly says that it was returned back to them in December.

I paid for it with my credit card, but I believe that because it was under £100 they won't do anything about it?

I hadn't even thought of that, I'll do that right now, thank you.

    Wordsearch.

the whole over a £100 is a load of crap mate. Section 75 CCA bla bla bla, Martin should really post on the forums/main site information regarding Visa/Mastercard chargeback.

You can still get assistance with amounts under £100.

You paid on credit card -the bank can initiate a chargeback for non receipt of goods. reason code 30 or 4855.

I would contact them to advise the situation, from your post thou you say its been a few months, chargeback can only be done 120 from the transaction date OR the expected delivery date.

So basically check this if its outwith these times dont bother. If its within time get onto them ASAP

    Hi Boohoo

I know you mean well but to be an official representative on this board you need to speak to Martin or his team and ask permission.

  • I ordered for the first time with Boohoo recently. They sent the wrong dress in the wrong size and now the one I ordered is out of stock. I think the customer service is appalling - I've emailed twice and had no response whatsoever in over a week. Hopefully I won't have any issues with a refund as at least I can provide proof of posting unlike OP. I won't shop there again though - it's really put me off.

boohoo_help you need permission to post as company rep

MSE TEAM PERMISSION: CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS

Company representatives are actively encouraged to post on the forum to provide good customer service to MoneySavers. They should not be using the opportunity to tout for business. We need to know in order to legitimise it. Where permission has been given for a company/person to specifically post there will be a note from the MSE Team. If someone has posted claiming to have been given permission but this has not been followed by a MSE team note please report it to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
