OP have you used a comparison site to see which is your cheapest option?

To be really honest that it really cheap for gas!

I used to work for British Gas. My mum and dad are 7.549 or something per unit or whatever it is.

Regards the "phantom" third tier... you will very rarely see this on a bill and Im surprised you can see it, it is only used it you go over a certain amount a quarter. But it needs to be extremely big. You only see this on small businesses who have a domestic meter really.

I really think you will be hard pushed to find a cheaper gas unit price.

Also as for fixed prices... You ALWAYS no matter what company you go with will find that there is generally a slight jump in price...roughly 7% of the top of my head!

    Regards

    Andrew

Uhm, your parents are paying a very expensive price - the OP's price is not 'really' cheap.

If your parents really are paying 7.549p for ALL their gas then they should be with Ebico where they would be paying 3.675p - less than half that price.

I've no idea where the third tier is from - I think the OP's three sections are more like two different periods. From his figures, there is a 1143 quarterly cap on the gas and a 225 quarterly cap with the electricity (that would be consistent with the excerpt published.)

That would make the annual electricity bill £499, not £746. So similar to/ a bit cheaper than WS 6.

So you chose to change to a more expensive fixed tariff from the variable tariff that you were on. And somehow that is the fault of British Gas?

er, did you read my post?

Bgas "fixed price rate" was HIGHER than i was on, i wasnt told that, so yes, THAT was Bgas "fraud"

(your favourire word i seem to recall)

It was inferred the rate "fixed at" was the rate i was on

You inferred incorrectly, then. But 'fraud' is not as bad as 'thread-jacking'. Go create your own thread and wait for Capistan and Operastar to join you there. If you don't know the difference between 'fixed rate tariff' and 'fix the rate of your tariff' then <shrug>

Yes I do, if anyone rings me up and offers me anything I ask how much its going to cost and dont just blindly agree to it.

Almost all fixed rate tariffs come with a premium when you sign up to them, rookie mistake to think otherwise.
