Any fool can be an estate agent, all you need is a shiny suit.
Don't forget the mini and some hair gel too.
I have met a lot of EAs and not all look the same, not all are idiots that lie through their teeth and not all wear a shiny suit. You mean a small fine, and given the very low number of prosecutions there is almost zero chance of that happening.
Indeed but never say never.0 -

No tricks an EA can pull should influence you to buy a house. Its crazy that one person saying that, for instance, the kitchen is brand new, should influence you on purchasing a house or indeed viewing it. Look at the property - area, size, plot, schools etc. If it matches them then it can be changed cosmetically if you buy it.
What tricks was he trying to pull? Was it the 'oh yes sir, you're only the 3rd out of 9 viewings going through today' or was it 'there is already an interested party, sir, so you have to offer today so you don't lose out'?
Neither should have any bearing on you. Look around, take the property in, make notes and have a think like you would if you were the only buyer and that was the only house on the market.0 -
Look at the cars estate agent owners and workers are driving around in and then look at the cars of those people wiv simlar qualiffications0

one of the tricks he tryed was we realy like a place and it had a stupid price range anyway the oh realy liked it so we put the asking price in bottom of this price range he say he already had a offer can't remeber how much it was for so will get back to us. anyway next day he call and says the other offer was higher than ours and it was turned down so we will hav to offer more i no thats our top thanks anway next thing oh i will put forwad anyway. i am like why don't waste your time he like no no it ok i will forwad it to them e.g no other offer :mad:0 -
the next trick was on a diffrent housethe deatail say it come with two car parking spaces there is about 5 out the front of the property (ex la) so when we veiw the place i ask witch ones would be ours he say he is not sure but he has checked the deeds and it come with two so after i ask for the hip he say you are not alowd to see the hip it's privet. anyway it's a repo and its up with a diffrent agent so i ask them for the hip there detail do not say anything about the parking space and in the deeds no packing space as the property line stops 2 meters away from them0

Care to expand on this? Or is the just another ignorant post on a topic that you obviously know nothing about? Or is it something that was once told to you in a pub by the friend of the brother of someone that once knew an Estate Agent in 1982. :TMy home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to sayIgnore......check!0 -

Unless you've read every one of the posts I've made at this site, you're in no real position to pronounce on what I've contributed and whether it was useful or not.
ALL other forums concur with your view? ALL?
All balanced articles I have looked at concur. I am sure you will see sense later.0 -
