There are two valid points of view here.
One is accept the fact that no matter what you do the cars going to get dirty again pretty soon and just make do with a decent wash wax from Aldi or similar and have done with it.
But if your an enthusiaist and have to get your car cleaned properly at least once a year you really cannot beat proper wash ("two buckets", wash mits), tar remover, clay barring followed immediately by a decent sealant.
This is great for "claying" large areas quickly (got one): http://www.chemicalguysuk.com/SURFACE_CLEANING_CLAY_BAR_ALTERNATIVE_p/clyblk.htm
but you'll need clay pieces for the "nooks and cranies".
I have a lot of time for Autoglym products but on a dark coloured car like mine and yours (mines dark blue) I'm going to say no to Autoglym Super Resin Polish. It leaves behind a powdery residue causing drip marks and fills stone chips with the white power too.
I've found something that really raises the shine on dark coloured cars http://www.ccs-inc.co.uk/sb-products.asp?productid=2325&category=86
Easy to apply and buff off, no powerdery residue and it smells nice:o
The car shampoo and spray on Aquawax are great for future washing too, brings the shine up.
A chemical reaction takes place over a few hours with these products, so it'll will look good straight away, but the following morning is when it really "glows".0 -
bilt hamber soft clay performs very well and is good value as you get a lot in the box and you only use water as a lube. good value for a compound is farecla g3 or turtle wax professional T30

"Wet look" shine thats durable is what you get from Duragloss and I didn't think the prices were that bad. You can spend 100's and a carnuba wax if you really want to (be a sucker)
Is this super shiney enough?
Few stone chips visible0 -

I've told you how to get a super shine for £3.99, with very little work involved.
No need to spend all of that dosh on polish and other fancy stuff, it is mainly sales hype anyway.0 -
