MSD thank you for that tuna tart recipe:A, I will give that a go( is it supposed to have peppers in? It says half a large... and I`m guessing peppers:rotfl:I will make it minus the peppers for DS as he wont eat them...I love peppers with tuna it just goes somehow)
As DS eats HM chicken pie I may try making the chicken pie filling and mixing that with peas and pasta for a tea one night:D
Been ill all night with sickness and shivering:(, feel a little better just off colour and feel like a day on the sofa with a good book but no chance with mr flappy:rotfl:. OH gone to work to catch up after missing work yesterday with his migraine.
WM on, BM on, DS had porridge for breakfast. Am making lamb curry tonight for OH and I using leftover leg of lamb I froze. Only using a Pataks jar:o but will add peppers, onions and coriander . Its about all I can cope with today. DS will have a cod fillet I breadcrumbed and froze.
Sunnygirl, Taplady hope you are both better
    Sandy how is the cat?
Sunnygirl good news about your DH and job possibility:j. If he does get it will you still go back to work or rethink it?

    Morning all,

My dd is back :T:j:D, she eventually got back around 11 last night, we had the biggest hug ever, she was very tired but had the time of her life, they saw so much over the five days, I am glad she had such a great time, but sooooo glad she is home :D

Its thick with frost here, I felt a bit daft putting the washing on the line this morning, as the line had mini icicles on it :rotfl::o, but it will be a nice day later, so I want to make the most of it, I have a second load in the wm, and will wait for dd to unpack her bag, and then there will be a load more, I am not to touch the bag cos there 'might' be a pressie in there for my birthday next month ;)

Today I want OH to measure up in the kitchen, there is space for two more cupboards under the counter, the previous people left room for a breakfast bar, but we will never use this, and the cupboard space would be handy, also I want two tall cupboards put in either side of the kitchen door, to keep my food in, there is nowhere to store it at the moment, I have it in 2 drawers but it driving me a bit mad, so hopefully we can order them today. I also need two blackout blinds for the stairs, as the light wakes me very early in the morning.

Yesterday I made a huge pan of lentil and veg soup, which we will have for tea with crusty bread, and we will have pancakes to follow :T, might phone my sister and see if they want to come for tea I am sure they wont have much food in the house.

Nothing much to do house wise, as I did it all yesterday, so I think I will just enjoy having my dd home :D

Bargainbird so sorry hun, whay a terrible sentence

Diva the recipe looks great, but what is the 3rd item on the list, half a large what ??? :D

    Have good days all xx

Morning everyone, hope you're all well today?

Pulled back the curtains here and the ground is white! More snow than there was yesterday too. Think it will be a day in the house and keeping warm.

Stayed up late last night to watch the Skeleton at the Olympics - well done Amy Williams! Not sure that I'd like to do it myself, it looks very fast and very scary

We're supposed to be going round to friends for a meal this evening, but I'm going to wait and see how the day develops weather wise. They live down the bottom of a hill and I don't fancy driving back up to the main road if there's snow and ice about. Plenty of stuff in the freezer if we do stay in.

Right, going to wrap up warm and take the dog out for a walk as she's getting pretty antsy.

    Have a good day everyone!
  • Good Morning

Thank you for your lovely welcome yesterday:D

I'm having to work this morning as my boss has gone away for the weekend so I've left my DH at home with our children and my friend's son as we received phonecall last night saying that her eldest daughter was hearing voices telling her to kill her brother and sister. So we've aquired an extra child for the forseeable future until things calm down at home.

When I eventually get home have a mountain of ironing to do along with some baking to replace cookies I made yesterday that were horrible.

Tea will be chicken and bacon pasta bake for the boys and lamb shanks in mint gravy for me and DH if I remember to put them in the oven as soon as I get home.( really must unearth the SC)

Hope you all have a lovely day
  • DS' football match has been called off, DS is :( but I am :D:j he has got training but I don't need to stay & watch that. So no excuses not to get my to do list done.

Need to make DSIS a birthday card so will go and add that to my list - shouldn't really be on here..........:rotfl:
  • Morning all

I had a lovely night out last night despite not feeling well. I felt truely awful when I got to the pub - all bunged up in the head and hot - but within about 90 mins (and 2 large glasses of wine later :rotfl: ) I felt so much better. We stayed in the one pub and then headed for a curry. I couldn't taste much of the curry sadly but it seemed nice. I got back about 1am, so not too bad.

I woke up at 8am again today!! Grrr, why do I wake so early on my week off?! I'm going to head back to bed in a min to see if I can get a few more moments of sleep, but I'll probably just end up reading.

It's beautifully sunny this morning, but chilly! There is frost everywhere, and the dock is partially frozen.

Normally on a Saturday I meet the girls for lunch and a spot of shopping, but as we had the wedding this week we are not going today. So I'm not sure what I'll do yet. Need to get a few bits so may go to Morrisons later.

    Have a fab day all

Morning all....................(((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) if you need one.....

The (I hope) news is is that DS2 is on his way up after a stalling day yesterday, he is hoping to be here around 10am. So some of the jobs will get done, the kitchen I hope plus the wardrobe will be brilliant.

I spoke to him last night, he had managed to get back to the flat after spending the day asleep at his friends, he had done a delivery Thursday night, did not get back till 5am and went back to his friends to sleep.

When we went to bed last night it was snowing which made my heart sink, but thankfully it was not much and the tractor and cars have almost cleared it on the lane.

We have seriously overspent this month, I have taken next months housekeeping out of the bank, I need to do the menu list. When we get the fridge/freezer into the kitchen I can empty stuff out of the storage freezer in the boot room and will see how much stuff I have and meals I can make with it. I will have to get a chicken from Aldi at some point, a chicken does us 3 meals and stock for soup.

The stove was still hot this morning, so a bit of kindling and some wood and its away.....we had a full load of wood delivered yesterday, the lorry dumped it outside the wall, the fork lift with the big shovel on did two scoops and it was in the garden waiting now to be stacked in the new store. We have to move it so DS2 can erect the new wood store, so it will get stacked in the old one for now.

Toad in the hole for supper and thanls to having my dishes back I will make a fruit crumble with custard for dessert.

OH has to go into the village this morning to get scripts, take my photo in for my bus pass, call at the post office for stamps and the Co-op for waste bucket bags.

We are lucky, our postman will take any letters put in a bag on the door knocker as long as it has stamps on.........so no need to trek to the post office to post letters.

Time to go, need another coffee and get my self into gear........may be back later...................

  • Oh no I just got up after my 1st lie in for ages to find the living room lovely and warm and the dog looking very contented,I'd only left the gas fire on all night.I was the last one up and 1st down TG so needen't own up to dh.:D
Quite a covering of snow here today,I'm supposed to be going out tonight for a meal with some old workmates,a kind of reunion but as it involves driving it may be called off.Truthfully I'd be a bit relieved as I've gone so boring sat nite is usually pajamas on,glass of wine and a dvd.
Have 2 dgs birthdays in march they'll be 4 and 2 so dd1 is taking me shopping tomorrow to buy their pressies, only thing about going on a sun theres no charity shops open for me to root about in:(Have a good weekend everyone.

Went out for drink last night with DH, couldn't drag him away, so left him with his DB they got home at 1 and didn't leave till 3 . So i'm a little bit tired to say the least :o.
