Just give the guy a break, he wants to buy his home (his Castle) he's entitled to do so since the Torys were in power. He's doing nothing wrong. No one questioned you about how much you paid for your 4 flats or how much rent you squeeze form the tenants. In case you have forgotten, we live in a democracy, capitolist and free market.

seems to me no one wants to buy your 4 houses captain is that your problem ,maybe its cause the country has got top heavy with vastly overpriced houseing ,see you are praying for the next upturn in the property market ,heres hopeing the mortgage companys continue to stop lending then i might get one of yours for a proper price eh lol
You never know, mate. You never know.

Anyway, going to bow out of this one. Don't have enough hours in the day to defend myself against two people who, if you'll forgive me for saying, seem to be fairly similar in their language and style of posting.

It's not healthy to talk to yourself and defend yourself in the third person, bearoxter.

This is a far nicer post and one I'm more willing to really answer.

If you'll look at the last page, you'll see that I hold the governmens of this country over the last 25 years (or whatever) since and including Mags responsible for the RTB situation. I cannot really blame the OP for taking advantage of the absolute gift he's being presented with here, so I do apologise if my anger with the government and the system appears to be manifesting itself as anger towards the OP himself.

Haggis, all of our Goverments have shamefully let us down, I'm not sure as to what the answer is. This country as a whole (hole) is shameful

I didn't go to a public school. I went to a state one. I did highers, got accepted to a uni but decided against going.

Correct..... Apologies. But it was more defensive than offensive - retaliatory, if you will. Nevertheless, apologies again.

This is the most sensible thing that anyone's said in this whole thread

I agree with Haggis, theres no need to get personal, its a debating site where we discuss issues.......

Now IMO (captain you may not like this) its its partly the fault of BTL investors that the HPI happend. Many borrowed against the perceived increase in value of existing property to buy more and in doing so stopped many FTB from competing, rather like the Wilsons (discussed on another thread). The other portion of blame should be centred on government for raiding pension funds, being deceitfull and people looked elsewhere for an investment return.........
