I was talking about mobile viewing in the UK, such as on a train, but by someone who does not own a home in the UK and who would therefore not be covered under a home license.

So why do the beeb come up with a rule governing mobile devices that is over 99.9999% unenforceable?

    a great find - thanks

Sorry if this is a daft q, but can you watch this landscape?

i can only get it to load portrait which makes the picture smaller as does not match the screen format

Turn you iphone (or whatever it is) on the side. The picture should readjust and fill the screen, like when viewing a picture. Mine does anyway.
  • As far as I am aware. The BBC only employs private contractors to enforce the TV licence. They have no legal right to enter your property without a warrant (so just let them stand at the door while you call the police and get the done for harassment :rotfl:). They will be dressed very official and sometimes wear flack jackets but its all just for show.
I would love someone to take the beeb to court over this and win damages for harassment.:A
  • Sorry if I'm just being old here but do you just need an iPhone or Ipod Touch?

If it's a web site that you connect to, don't you need an internet connection as well?

Lol allenkj - sometimes what seems obvious to some isn't obvious to others!

The iPhone will use it's 3G connection to get data - and therefore connect to the website.
The iPod Touch needs to use wifi to connect - either a home wifi, or at an internet hotspot/internet cafe etc.

    Hope this helps.

    Tony
