It is a great site, I have been using it on my iphone for a couple of weeks,

It only really works if you have 3G on and actually have 3G displayed (or wifi)

Yesterday I was in Tesco shopping with my 4 year year old in the trolley, he was getting bored so loaded up Cbeebies and gave him the phone, silence for 30 minutes!
• Windows Mobiles phones have been doing this for ages and from day one at the luanch of TV Catchup, but because the Iphone is a phone that is Monitized heavily by Apple then this is a newish innovation for Iphone users.

Apples aversion to all things Flash data enabled means that this is one area the iphone lacks the cutting edge.

I take it this will not work on a ipod nano? :)

Nope - sorry - iPod Touch or iPhone only, as needs either wifi or 3G connection to stream the signal.

Windows Mobile phones have been doing this TERRIBLY for ages from past experience. Had my iPhone 12 months now and cannot believe how much better it is for the everyday user.
• Just as with any other device, if you’re watching programmes as they’re being shown on TV on a phone or any other mobile device, you need to be covered by a licence. If you're covered by a valid licence at the address where you live, you'll be licensed to use any device powered solely by its own internal batteries outside the home too.

from tv licensing website
• I have been using this on my iphone for four months and on my laptop for about 3 (no tv in room) and love it! Even if the signal is lost for a second and it comes up 'buffering' it usually restarts in same place. It is about a minute behind the actual tv though so dont watch in same house as someone else if its results of something as you might hear their reactions first hahaha
• Yet another licence clarification which may help (a limited few) who hold TV licences for addresses they do not live at.

From The Communications (Television Licensing) Regulations 2004

Type: TV Licence (Mulitple Form)
(c) for the use anywhere of any television receiver powered solely by its own internal batteries by the licensee or by a person normally living at one of the specified locations

Ah ha! I just read section b and learned something extra. If you are a licensee of other addresses as mentioned in my post above, (or are with someone who is) you can also use an externally powered TV receiver in cars, boats and touring caravans.

(b) to install and use television receivers in any vehicle, vessel or caravan being used or occupied by the licensee or by a person normally living at one of the specified locations, being installation or use not covered by a licence described in Schedule 5, provided that a receiver may not be used in a caravan, other than a touring caravan, at the same time as a receiver is being used at the specified location at which the person using the receiver normally lives
