Though I'd update on what I decided in the end.
I got the email and forms accepting my application on Monday. Didn't give a deadline but wanted the forms back by next Wednesday and also said that if I wanted to withdraw now was the time to do it and any later withdrawal will be looked on unfavourably. Not sure I appreciated the tone of that but there you go. It's a big decision.
Anyway, it was a really hard decision and I decided not to take it and emailed them yesterday. They won't be happy and it could affect me in the future. It's a bit of a gamble but the jobs market seems tough out there and the timescale was too tight. With leave I would be gone in more or less in a weeks time. There will be other packages on offer over the next few years as they're desperately overstaffed at my grade. What they'll offer is another matter though.
Anyway, thanks for all your advice. It's difficult times out there and I suspect it's not going to get any easier.0 -
I always find living with a decision, is much less stressful than making one, so hopefully you'll be happier now. Good luck for the future!0
