I am a midwife and we gets lots of pads from new mums who do not need them any more, so ask your midwife and get some freebies!

Just want to reiterate how good the lanisoh ones are. Im currently bf dd3 (shes 16 weeks and gorgeous, hehe), and these have kept me the driest. As for value, 1 box last far longer than 100 of Mothercares own. Plus they come in nice little packets so theyre great to keep some in your bag without them getting manky.

However, Ive just bought a new breast pump (tommee tippee, £19.50 from Mothercare, its brill) and I got some free pads, not used them yet but they look very similar to the lanisoh ones.

Also, cracked sore nipples?, ask your midwife for some calendula oil, its far better than any creams.

Biker - good luck with your pg!

    Love Ali

Tommee tippee, 2 boxes (50)for £5 in Tescos. Sounds expensive but so worth it!
I used the cheaper bulkier ones for my first baby but it is a false economy as you have to change them more regularly and were really uncomfortable. Tommee ones were fantastic and held far more liquid and never ever let me down!!

Its the equivalent of the old sanitary towels (held up with the sanitary belt!) and tampons!!

Must be one of those things, what works for me doesn't work for you.

Having had lots of samples from Johnsons, Tommee Tippee, Lanisoh, Avent and the like, I have found no difference at all in the disposable brands. They all do the job they were designed for...none leaked on me, I only use 1 pair each day, all look fine under clothing, so I'm sticking to Wilkos until I can find some even cheaper;)

Hmmm, I might look into those Lanisoh one's then, as I like to wear nice summer tops but sometimes find it embarassing with certain breast pads, boots aren't too bad, but I may give these a try, they're on ebay at the mo, anyone know the rough price for them? (don't want to overpay)

Bought some lilypadz and they are invisible under clothes. Not leaked yet.

I have found they have a tendency to fall off overnight though as you fill up the tanks and change shape. Not much fun trying to locate them on the floor in the darkened baby room at 4am.

Alos, if you've used lilypadz, please advise how you discreetly replace them in public? I've been practicing at home and can't put them securely back on yet without displaying the entire milk factory:eek:  Thanks.

  • Have you trird sanitry towels especially at night time I found these to be really absorbant and cheaper compared to breast pads which leaked and I got through loads of these

I tried many differnet kinds, but the one I prefered was the Lloyds Pharmacy own brand ones, not sure how much they are as it is 3 years since I used them.

    Well worth a look imo
