I came to the same conclusion as aarggh last time round in that they were 5p each wherever I went...or 4.5p in mothercare.

Never thought to look in Wilkos or pound shop though.

Does anyone bulk buy online at all? That's what was in my head when I originally posted, to maybe discover an unknown cheaper source.

I use the Johnson's disposable breast pads, in my opinion the only disposable ones worth buying! The never get soggy and leak and they don't rustle like some brands! Also they are a nice shape so you don't look weird even when wearing a t-shirt.

They aren't the cheapest but currently on offer a Asda at £1.98 for a box of 30. I found buying cheaper ones was false economy.

I have a few washable ones from Avent. They are ok but they don't mould to your shape so don't look good under clothes. So I just use them at night time. With my first baby I found that as time went on I used breast pads less and less till not needed at all.

If you are liable to leak a lot then Lansinoh are the best option! I only leaked at night but i would soak through 5 breast pads on each breast and my pjs and through onto my covers. I tried a free sample of Lansinoh and was completely amazed, i was completely dry. Saved a fortune having to use only 2 pads at night instead of 10.

i agree that I would not go with anything else apart from johnsons if I have another baby. the edges of the tescos ones felt sharp and they were so thick compared. I hated the lilypadz. i got an awful rash from them....

I found Tesco's pads awful, kept moving around....only bought them as an emergency measure...I stuck with the ones from "Babies R us" they were fab, with my first two boys had reusable ones but didn't get on too well with them, but this last time was great.

I must admit, I did have a thing for the Johnsons, but they are too expensive, however, now they are on deal at Asda, I'm going to stock up!

I found the best ones to go for were Lansinoh, not exactly cheap but I leaked so much in the night they were the best for keeping me dry. In the day time I would use breast shells to collect excess milk to freeze for daddy to give as a feed.

I also couldn't reccommend their cream highly enough for sore nipples. it is pricey but lasts a heck of a long time and soothes cracked and sore nipples so much.

I got to the stage where I couldn't let my daughter latch on to feed because I was so sore, but a couple of days of that and I was fine.
    Thankyou :kisses3:

I find the Tommee tipee ones brillaint, and well worth the price( like someone said, BOGOF at the moment too) I only need one pair to last the day, and 2 more for night, compared to many more cheapy ones.

The lansinoh ones are also great, they have a backing that means you don't leak through clothes, a real plus point while wearing t-shirts in hot weather!

Absolutely agree! My midwife recommended this and it cleared the problem within a couple of days. It is expensive but you don't need much and the real advantage is that you don't have to wash it off before breastfeeding.
