Cheap breast pads please

I have to say with regards to breast pads, the size of your breasts kind of dictates which ones are best to use.
If you have large boobs the only ones to use in my opinion are the lansinoh ones (but they are quite pricey)
All the other ones make you look like you have enormous nipples under your top, and considering you get enormous nipples anyway when you're breast feeding, the last thing you want to do make them look bigger!
If you just want cheapies, go to sainsburys, at the moment my local store is doing the johnssons ones discounted, i dont know if this is all over the country or just my store, generally this happens when they are discontinuing a line but you never know

my sis spends a fortune on breast pads, i had a pathetic milk supply so didn't actually need them except for day 3, but bought them for security anyway while i was expressing.
i bought washables, and the mothercare ones slipped out of my bras all the time. avent ones had a lace back which seemed to cling better, they stayed put. if i was going to do it long term i'd probably sew press studs or a bit of velcro or something similar into my bras just to be on the safe side lol! have you tried the avent ones with lacy back?
they all seemed to cost 5p each when i priced up disposables. can you buy online from tescos though, and use codes? sometimes there's a combination of boots codes that's very generous too, not sure how often it happens. that's the way i buy disposable nappies anyhow, using codes for tescos. of course if you're buying from asda or tesco instore and you happen to have a coupon, for pampers nappies for example, they will accept it off the cost of your shopping even though you haven't bought the product. worth a try

Avent were the ones that frequently dropped out of my bra when not feeding (most embarrassing..."excuse me, please move your foot as you're stepping on my breast pad"
) and made me look like I had 2 large teaplates sitting on my breasts as they dont bend.:rotfl:
I wrote to Avent about them and Avent sent me a full refund and a pack of disposable pads too.:DWho made hogs and dogs and frogs?

This thread just reminded me of something..... :rotfl:
When I was pregnant with my first child I was talking to a friend who was in her mid twenties. I mentioned something about breastpads and she asked "are they to make your boobs look bigger?" :rotfl:
Obviously she had never been visited by the 'three day milk fairy' :rotfl:Just run, run and keep on running!0 -
lol! it happened to me with my second baby but not the first, can be embarassing if you're not prepared for it. the bounty, emma's etc. packs all have breastpad samples though, that was enough for me in hospital but my sister goes through lots of them. she recently had a baby, and SIL is pregnant with her first. i grabbed some sale packs of 100 pads for a pound that boots were selling off and gave them to my sis during a family get together, as you do
pregnant SIL was horrified at the thought anyone could need a hundred of them teehee! never mind horror stories about labour, piles etc. it's the thought of a box of breastpads bigger than the baby itself that's made her wonder if pregnancy/childbirth is perhaps a bit indelicate :rotfl: 52% tight0 -
I also found the Avent rewashable ones annoying, they tend to have the same problem as a lot of the other breast pads. They don't really seem to be shaped to "cup" your breast, they are all circles and tend to stick out. The Lanisoh ones are more oval and made to fit round you, i don't have huge boobs and they were fine with me although you do have to make sure they are in the position that you want them before removing the label over the sticky bits.A banker is someone who lends you an umbrella when the sun is shining, and who asks for it back when it start to rain.0

I tried loads and found the Tommy Tippees the best by far. They stay in place and are thin and discrete but really absorbant. Tried others and ended up leaking all over the place.
Biker queen - you will need these delightful items! If you are not feeding your boobs will supersize (!) and become hard and uncomfortable around 3 or 4 days after birth (they do this whether you feed or not actually). I think you just need to try and not stimulate them (don't squirt them with the shower etc) and after a day or two they will start going down.0 -
thank you Woo Hoo! I have a box of them, I just wondered what the procedure was...no one tells you how glamorous pregnancy is do they?0
