Oh my goodness. I am so sorry to read this. Burglary is a terrible crime and can leave the victim feeling terribly violated. (((hugs)))Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

This is my first time of growing veg. We have got a greenhouse and have planted herbs and veg.
We are growing Thyme, Basil, Cress. As well as Carrots, Cauliflower, Sprouts.
I'm new to all this so any tips would be great.I used to suffer from lack of motivation.... now I just can't be arsed.

Oh my God so sorry you have been burgled hope they did not take much, but someone coming into your home without being invited and stealing your stuff stinks.
I was burgled and they took my video camera with all footage of daughter when she was 1st born and great grandparents were on it I was devestated, I really feel for you its dreadfull hope you are ok
It really (swears) me off when people go out to work and work really hard then other people think its acceptable to come in to your house and steal from you, it really stinks
Sorry 4 the rant I am really upset 4 you

Oh eletan, I'm really sorry to hear you were burgled. That's just dreadful. I hope they haven't taken anything too precious, and that your insurance will cover anything else. Feeling angry is natural, and rightly so. Try to bear in mind that whoever took it didn't do it 'personally' to you, it was more than likely opportunistic, and your house was selected at random. Did they force entry, and has there been a spate of incidents locally? We usually find in my quiet little town that as the weather warms up, there's a spate of burglaries. Usually a small window will get left open, and because we have such a low crime rate here, we are more trusting. I was listening to an article on Radio4 yesterday, and a guy on there acted as a good samaritan one evening to a young lad, who said his dad had beaten him up and he had nowhere to go. He took him home with him, offered him a kip on the sofa that night, and when he woke up, the lad had stolen his money, wallet, and car.
All my stuff seems to be surviving these recently colder nights, although I'm protecting them at sunset just in case. The forecast for here in sunny south Lincs is for much warmer daytimes, up to 20C by early next week, and temps well above freezing at night. If it stays like that for the next couple of weeks, we should be well clear of the threat from frosts. I read somewhere that May 15th was about the safe cut-off point for frosts, and guess what date it is today?!
The sun is gloriously shining today, so I'm off out into the garden to dig a new bed. I got some free gravel last night from a builder friend, who is lifting a client's gravel driveway, to lay a concrete one, so I got his old gravel - hurrah! It's nicely filled in a dead patch of garden where we lifted a patio to make a large shed base at the end of the garden. It is nowlooking much more respectable out there. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
