Its gambling and basically your partner got carried away. To be honest be careful that she doesn't keep looking for that thrill from putting a risk in to recieve a gain!

Live and learn as they say, they arn't obligated to put a limit on the number of calls and also its like gambling at a bookies or on the internet, they don't say....'oooh sir you have lost £200, we won't take anymore bets of you for teh night' do they...(it might not be a bad idea mind!)

Why did you not enter via the web free entry?
This is advertised on screen every so often and I have won £330 this way for no cost.

One of BT's free options is barring Premium Rate numbers.

Stables and doors I know but at least it'll stop it happening again.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Actually browsed to the channel last night. Heard a contestant speaking and the host asked for a date of birth about 5 or six times. Eventually they came up with one that was over 18, but didn't sound right to me. But they still accepted the call and the person's answer.

Quizcall aren't the most of responsible people.

If they find out a winner is under 18 they won't give them their prize.

Vunerable?? If they are that vunerable maybe they shouldn't have a contract mobile phone or be allowed to us one???

They let my partner run up a bill on my mobile of £2500, in one night!

Really? These things are about £1 a call, aren't they? She'd have to have been calling non-stop every 15 seconds for 10 hours solid. It's not possible.

how can you be only be mostly to blame? they didn't force you to ring, surely you (she) is completely to blame?

it costs 75p to call Quiz call, so she phoned 3333 times in one night? Wow she must have been busy! Although I guess it would be more from a mobile

Duh, Caller ID. Easy for their system to record your caller ID and not accept the call if you had called more than X times that day.

However since these companies have no morals and their business methods are on the edge of legality, the question is not how but why would they do so.
