I've just had my first proofreading query from RE. I've been expecting it for 3 days as I've lost the receipt. Annoying as it's a station job so fairly well paid (in RE terms haha). Anyone have any experience of a lost receipt with RE? I know gap give you 3 strikes.

Well they're not paying me. Offered that I could reshop it, but I told them it's not worth it for the fee. I was passing through the station so didn't mind it the first time.

I have to say I find it quite inflexible. I could tell them the individual costs of everything, the time on the receipt (I checked it before I lost it!) and uploaded a copy of my train ticket but it wasn't enough.

Annoyingly I didn't find out I'd lost it until after I completed the report otherwise I wouldn't have bothered filling it in. Luckily I bought stuff I enjoyed otherwise I'd be fuming.

Just chalk it up as lesson learned. I recall RE not paying me for a betting scenario once because I went in the shop 5 minutes before the scheduled time. I've never gone on an assignment early since for any company unless it's been approved first, lol.
  • Hi. Don't know if I'm allowed to tell you this as it may upset some people on this forum. I am only telling you in order to be helpful so here goes:

Over a year ago I did a wine purchase visit in which I had to purchase a bottle of wine and a chocolate bar, produce a photograph of said bottle of wine and chocolate bar and submit it and also submit the receipt which said clearly that I had purchased the wine and chocolate bar.

In the report there was a question which said "What did you purchase?"
I wrote "A bottle of (blah blah - can't remember exact wine now) and forgot to write "chocolate bar". My mistake, I own up, I omitted to mention the chocolate.

I received a telephone call two days later asking me what I had bought at the shop (although surely photo a receipt would ascertain what I had purchased).

I told the staff member at the MS company that I had bought a bottle of wine and a chocolate bar. She told me I did not write chocolate bar on the report and therefore the report was invalid and I would not be reimbursed or paid.

All they had to do at their end was doctor the report to add the words "chocolate bar" before submitting it to the client, which I am sure is what they would have done.

I did not however get sacked.

For those of you who hate hearing bad things about a certain company, I apologise, I am just stating a fact. ;)

I hope you at least won the bet. :D I enjoyed my wine and chocolate anyway!

I suspect I'm not going to get paid for one of the travel shops (the rest have been paid) because I went over the timeframe. I got to the shop at 4.05 pm with the timeframe ending at 4.30pm, but as some of you may know these assignments took ages and I didn't get out till 4.45pm. I haven't been contacted with a query and it's still sitting as pending. :(

Oh, and I'm not being paid for one of the crisps photo jobs because I refuse to do a 40 mile trip to go back and take a photo of the false merchandising that is stacked all the way to the ceiling. I explained they are more than 10 feet of the ground and are obviously dummy stock not real tubes of crisps but they were being their usual pedantic selves.

Neither of these companies are RE...........I think they are all bad, some being worse than others lol.!

Haha, thanks but there isn't really a lesson to be learned. I don't ever plan on losing anything :p.

I'm 99% sure I put the receipt in my purse, but I then got on the train to Cardiff to watch the rugby and got my purse out a dozen times during the day so I assume it fell out then. Luckily I still have my £30 M&S gift receipt, and in the hunt for the station receipt I found I still had £35 of Disney Store vouchers in my bag! I'd say that's better than the few £ I lost out on haha. Silver lining :rotfl:.

    Hey,

Are any of you doing the exercise jobs starting in April for Tern?

This is a no fee assignment but they only want 7 reports over a month with free food and drinks too. The remaining two months is completely free to visit the club as often as one likes........ Pool, Sauna, getting trim for summer etc. Now this kind of reimbursement only job isn't too taxing......:j

I'm doing this one, really looking forward to it... also can take my DD for swimming (they say you add children for free or a nominal fee that they will pay..) and they pay for meals/drinks for some of the visits.. It's perfect timing for my holiday in July...

I'm sure the reports will have to be detailed but then I'm well practised at that doing work for RE....!!! My last report for them took me over an hour, my choice.. I wrote everything down, specific timings even though they don't ask for them, lots of detail about the restaurant etc... Its still sitting in pending 6 days now.. the proof reader's probably still reading it..:rotfl:

I think most are quite good though. I really like GfK. Have worked for them for over 3 years and have never ever had a problem. With Gyp you know what you're in for and for a measley fee the reports can be completed in 5 minutes. I find GR good as well. Not had a problem with the company you failed to mention (but I know who you mean) YET.

Looks like the React coffee shops are being allocated - got one of four.

    Thanks.

Just checked and I got zero from ten. I think I even like RE better than React. At least I can get an ocassional job with RE.
  • Well, first report properly graded from REACT, and I am a star pupil with a 10!!

I don't normally take much notice of the marks, but well, I am a little proud of this one, and the report took ages as it was for a London tourist attraction.

For what it is worth, I Love REACT, I get most of what I apply for, and the jobs are usually a little less run of the mill than other companies.

I also really like Aba-i, good helpful people on the phone, and they seem to appreciate good shoppers.
