Exactly! While the jobs get accepted and completed, there is no reason for fees to increase. It's obvious why RE rarely have two week fieldwork intervals - more like two days. It's so that the jobs can get picked up and dropped innumerable times before the true deadline! Reputable MS companies do not need to give two day deadlines: they pay enough for the jobs to get done first time!

Speaking of which, who else remembers the last company to MS Woolworths???? Of course! It was ......:rotfl:What a coincidence!

Sorry, I thought this thread was about the
[Monty Python on]10 minute argument-not the full 1/2 hour[/Monty Python Off]

RE deliberately put up dates with very short cut off so as to get shoppers in to do them quickly.
The actual end dates are usually about 4 weeks off.
    E.G.
    Hotel weekday business vists.
On this week for 3-4th March only
    Actual end date 26th March

Ones done in the first two weeks (3-4th then 8th-10th11th) no fee, no mileage.

Lo and behold, whatever is left 15th-17,18th Reasonable fee

    Stragglers 22nd- 24,25th LARGER fee.

    Been there, done that :D

    Borrowed from another thread...

How many forum members does it take to change a light bulb?

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs

1 to move it to the Lighting section

2 to argue then move it to the Electricals section

7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs

5 to flame the spell checkers

    3 to correct spelling/grammar flames

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" .. another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid

2 professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"

15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct

19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum

11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum

36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty

7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs

4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's

3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group

13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"

5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy

4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

13 to say "do a search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"

1 to ask if someone can summarise the thread as he doesn’t have time to read it all….

1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again.

    :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Actually, could add a few more, like 958 to point out that if they read the OP, they'd know the answer to their question in the first place and a few more I'm sure!

TBH, if you look at any other part of the whole MSE forum, there is always disagreements, arguments, keyboard warriors, drama queens, pedants, wind up merchants, SPAM etc etc... ..

    Usually sorts itself out.

Trust me I know! I've fallen out with a very good friend on here because of something we don't agree on!

    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Hi everyone,
I am finally relaxing with a glass of wine after a busy day.
I did 7 jobs today which I know is not a lot for some but it was for me as I haven't been doing this long. The report writing is the worst bit
I have made a mistake tonight and emailed the company as I had probs with my computer and missed the receipt uploading part. I hope that they are understanding and don't sack me :(
I aspire to be mortgage free by July 2014 :staradmin

    Well I never. I didn't know that.

It is not the low pay per se that annoys me so much as the way it makes me feel as if we are all 10 a penny. You notice the companies who pay you anything say from £10 to £25 coincidentally also treat you as a valuable resource.

You know what imagine a group of us on here set up our own company. We want to make as much dosh as possible as quickly as possible. 1) Get some cheapie IT people. 2) Nick contracts by undercutting good companies. 3) Gather a large database 4) Offer then as low a fee as possible

Then chortle at our 1st board meeting to count the cash rolling in. And us saying "Fancy all these dafties...quick as we put the jobs on at £4.50 a go they are snapped up" Someone proposes we pay a higher fee to get better quality reports...nah the rest say...We are happy making all this money, the dafties who take the jobs seem happy to do it, the clients are getting reports, albeit we need to "edit" some of them.

If I was going to be a hooker I'd rather be a high class hooker.

    Does that make sense.

Sorry I am confused. MS'ing companies don't usually employ you. The link for the job board is on page 1 of this thread. Quite a bit down. Did they ask you to send your P45?
