in Water bills
For people who cant get a water meter fitted ie maybe flats with a shared supply there is something called an "assessed charge I found out today.
Im looking now at my daughters water bill in a 1 bedroom/one person which is based on RV, her RV is £152 her annual bill is around £215 PA this includes fresh water, standing charges, sewage and drains.
South East waters assessed charge in the RG area is £80 for fresh water approx thats based on a 1 bedroom no discount for single person.
Thames water who are in the same bill as her South East bill puts their assessed charge as £75 PA for a 1 bedroom however they have a 1 person discount SE water did not.
The upshot is that if you cant get a water meter fitted then see what an assessed charge costs.
My daughter will save at least £50 a year.
An assessed charge is not metered.

As has been said hundreds of time about this topic..You need to apply for a meter first (even if you know you can not get one)
Assessed is not a tariff you can be put on without trying to get a meter fitted unless your property has been changed by 50% and even then they will try to fit a meter.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.

I think I did say that above0 -
But it has been said more then once already..it was a topic of discussion about 2 or 3 weeks ago so doing a search of the site would have brought the information up anyway.
That was my point really. The topic has already been done and nothing new was added.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;

Well perhaps you should have explained your point clearer then.
Did you know Thames water can asess your sewage and drainage part of your South East water bill because SE water didnt.
I didnt relize you were the mod on the water threads.:D0 -
The company who supply the water can assess the rest of the charges..So yes I did know that.
you are right, I could have explained my point better but you could have do a search for assessed charges and seen that a new thread was not really needed.
Modding..No just making a point, much the same as you were doing with your opening thread.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;

No I was trying to give help as it is a money saving site. My post was for everyone not just you
Again for the second time for you, SE water although supplying the water did not know if Thames water would assess their part for sewage/drainage or what the cost would be. I spoke to 3 x CSA and 1 x manager.
Thames water however were more than helpful 1x csa and I did do a search on here
Now if you know your stuff I want to ask a question, Im with SE water on a meter I pay £18 PA standing charge and at the moment I pay 056.75 per m3 so where is my sewage/drainage charge? In with the 056.75 per m3?
Also do SE have a water trust? I know thames water do cos ive googled it
I also get a £5 discount pa for DD
ps get some service in you joined in 20090 -

I understand that but as I said, It was already out there anyway and there are loads of threads about assessed charges.

No need for the second time anything..You asked if I knew and I said yes. The fact they don't is not my issue. SE do know about assessed charges and how it is worked out as there is only 3 rates of charge anyway. SE should charge you and pass the balance to Thames. As that is the agreement with OFWAT based on the act.
The fact you got to speak to someone slightly stupid is no shock really but then we only have your side of the conversation so they might have got slightly confused by what you were asking ( it does happen and I would think the "manager" was really just a floor support agent)

A water bill is made up of several charges:
Water standing charge
Used water standing charge ..This can also on some bills be combined into one standing charge.
There is then a water price per cubic meter and a used water price per cubic meter.
Drainage is then another charge on top of that, normally called measured drainage.
The standing charges are added to the bill in 6 month portions ( some companies do a quarterly bill )
So clean water would be 56 pence per cubic meter ( which is quite low compared to others ) and your used water would be ** whatever pence per m3 ( it can be more expensive then clean water ) the bill is then 56p plus whatever added and that is the overall price per cubic meter for both services.
STW is £2.14 for both
Also do SE have a water trust? I know thames water do cos ive googled it
As far as I am aware all water companies have a trust fund but as I don't work for SE I don't know the details
I also get a £5 discount pa for DD
I am going to speak to someone about this and see what is happening. so will get back to you on that one
ps get some service in you joined in 2009

I think you need to state who you work for as you dont always give correct advice!0 -
I can't quite see who I work for being an issue but what advice is wrong ?
So far nothing you have said has proved that anything I have offered is wrong or incorrect.
You are making the deal of the discount but not actually listening to what I said..I said it was illegal to offer it against a WATER bill...There are of course ways around that but if it were raised in the proper place it might still become an issue and one that OFWAT can look into and action if they find it against the act.
As this is a web site open forum people are able to add whatever advise they think is right and to be honest there is so much misinformation out there (on the web) that even if I were wrong it is only one more voice in a sea of rubbish.
Customers should always go to their company and ask as they will be the ones who have final say anyway.
Anyway, You have your opinions and I really have no wish to waste my time going over the same stuff again and again until you feel you have won.
If people use my advice and use the questions I ask to go to the company in question then all good, if people don't want to take anything I say then equally ..all good.
I know that I have helped some people here so clearly my advise does work for some.

I think the remark about the 4 slightly stupid people work work for SE water said it all. Its not about winning but giving correct information on here.
You dont seem to be able to admit you are wrong when you have been pulled up0
