I am not cured I have had to block a number of sites just to stop me going there at all - the wear the clothes you've got challenge. Having said that I went to Sainburys last week and spent £106, I LIVE ON MY OWN! So I am on a challenge not to buy any food until I have worked through the freezer, the cupboards and the tin stash currently in the wardrobe because the cupboards are full. Currently on day 9 of the no food buying I am trying to get to day 28.

well today I made a packed lunch to take into work, and made a last minute decision to swerve the co-op and just make tea out of whatever I can find tonight... so my £34 is still intact :T

Update for the first week in march...

I got my £100 incentive from alliance and Leicester !!! Yay! That was the easiest £100 I ever made. So much so that DH has now applied to get £100, plus we both get £25 for recomending him!

  • Oh and my cash only rule this month seems to be working. I only have £120 left to see me to the 28th... But I think it's do'able. I shall hit the old style boards again on my day off this week and PLAN PLAN PLAN!!!

    Hi mendmyways,

Wow you do sound just like me! You sound like you're doing so well. I'm finding it really helpful to read other peoples' diaries for inspiration!!:T So thank you.

My debt is quite a lot more than yours, but I am hopeful I can clear it before the end of Nov 2012. I too want to be OD free. I want to get paid and have money in my account rather the be straight back in the red.

    Good Luck!

  • Hi MMW

Thanks to being made redundant at Xmas (my choice, like you have 3 DSs and am happy not to be at work just now) I am OD free as well. Probably for the first time in my adult life! And it feels sooo good!

I think you should preserve your OD free staus at all costs, but just put whatever you were paying for your OD towards your other balances. That's my approach and it's working for me so far.

    Good luck!

  • Hi missmental thanks so much for Reading and commenting on my diary, it means so much to me to know there are others like me out there!!
I'm aiming for 2012 too. I can't believe how proud becoming OD free made me last month... And it still hasn't worn off. I just love seeing that little C next to my balance instead of the D that's been there for years!!!
You have done amazingly well so far £1297 paid off is fantastic!

    Hey!

No overdraft...I wonder what that feels like!

I've been in my overdraft since I was 17...I was a student then...now I'm no longer a student, 26 and now have two overdrafts!

I am also going to attempt your 'cash' only idea! And leave the bank card at home! I switch so much and sont even realise how much I'm spending!

Keep up the good work you've certainly got the right attitude! Xx
