I am banging my head against the wall!!!
I want to quit Talk Talk (Tiscali Tariff) by moving sideways BUT it is LLU !!!
o2 tell me that I need a BT line to take o2 home phone / BB when o2 goes live.
Is my only option to go back to BT for LR and another company for BB a little later on.
I phoned BT who can take me back in 11 working days BUT said I have to cancel the BB myself BUT won't shifting the line to BT do that if I go down that route?? I don't have the ££ for BT BB prices.

Can you move LLU to LLU with anybody to save too much downtime???0

No, you will always have downtime. It is one of the major disadvantages of full LLU (Line and BB). BT offered a new line installed for free (new number though), but the expiry of the offer was yesterday not sure if they have renewed it.0 -
TT said If I cancel my service with them It would take a month before I could switch to another provider.
Would my line be active or inactive for the purpose of taking on a new provider. I had trouble with Tiscali in the first place because the line was there but not being used/paid for0 -

One day you would be with TT with broadband, the next day with BT but with no broadband. Assuming you appear in the BT databases used by the likes of O2 you should be able to order another broadband a couple of days later, and it will take a week or more to become active.0 -
Scenario ---- I inform TT I don't want any service with TT. My line goes dead.
I wait a month and then I go to order lets say o2 home phone / BB will they be able to take my order because the line would be dead.
So many conflicting opinions from Ofcom/BT/o20 -

This is what you do:
1. Ring BT and ask them to take your line back, they will either tell you there and then when it will happen or send you a letter.
2. You will at some point receive a letter from TT saying BT is taking your line back. They may in the letter inform you that your BB will also be cancelled. If they do then there is nothing more to do, except to ring them up after the transfer and make sure they have cancelled your account.
4. Do not cancel your account with TT before the transfer as you may lose your number.0 -
Has anybody moved to an all in package by using return to donor!!! ((line in limbo between the two providers))
I would rather avoid BT and their 12 months LR and BB separately and go for an all in elsewhere. But this looks impossible

This is where you come unstuck. I don't think anyone will accept a non-BT line and in order to move to BT you will have to accept their 12 month contract.
Any chance you could use smaller text it is a bit like shouting0 -
Yes
I have little option other than BT or TT and bet TT know that!!!!!!
It was weird though how Tiscali restarted my line after it hadn't been used for a year or more. Bt couldn't start the line cos Tiscali had taken it but got confused whether they could or should have!!!0 -

You could pay BT for line rental and O2 for broadband. Not ideal but it tends to be better to keep them separate as you have discovered.0
