Dodgy message on Facebook

I have to say I had something extremely similar and it turned out it was true-she did have info about my hubby and it wasn't good news to put it mildly! It too started with a very simple message on facebook and I replied saying I didn't believe she knew anything about me or my husband and wham she came back with everything she knew-yuck!

Luckily we came through this and are now happy again but it was a terrible time. It turned out he'd actually finished it with her a year before she decided to get in touch with me, in typical 'woman scorned' fashion.

I very nearly put it down to a prank and ignored it and I sometimes wish I had, to be honest.

Anyway I'm sorry I can't offer advice but I just wanted to say it can and does happen. I really really hope it's just a prank in your case though! :)

Did you open the message? Is that all it said??

Sounds weird, and like someone stirring if there was nothing but those two lines.

Yes that's all it said, I totally trust my DH and he doesn't have enough time to have an affair!
The nature of the message, the odd collection of friends (most look like !!!!!! actresses) the person is male etc all smell really fishy. If I was contacting someone I would at least put something that indicated I did know the people involved, this is just so vague and spammy.
I've reported it to Facebook and blocked them.
Part of me was tempted to reply and tell them I knew they were making it up, but 1. I was worried it might be a virus or something and 2. Didn't want them to have the satisfaction.

but for some reason I had that anyone can send a message.

Yes anyone can send you a message unless you block them by name
Did you know with 'Friend Finder' you only need an email address for someone to locate you I've had junk & dud mail via this.

It sounds not worth worrying about vicki from what you've said about the sender. You get all sorts of freaks and halfwits on these sites...

Op what ever you do dont reply to it as it will then give the sender access to your profile for 1 month even if they arent on your friends list :-)

You could put a general request on your status to see if your friends know them at all or if they have received anything from the said person.
